what are you looking up on ebay to find full systems like that? are you just typing in "computer" and sorting thru everything that comes up?

Edit: oh...and yeah...that's hella cheap...go for it if you feel comfortable...haha

I would be very wary getting anything off eBay. At the very least send your money via an escrow service. If they tell you they want the money up front and won't do an escrow then tell them to sod themselves.

I bet it wont sell for that price, and eBay is FULL of frauds.

"* This is not a complete system. Some parts such as (hard drive, video card, memory, etc.) need to be added."

that might be why it's so cheap

Zanathos

Umm, duh, i realize that.

those other items arent too expensive.

cept the video card.... but i dont plan to get a kick ass one.

pretty good computers there for a cheap price!

all it needs is a few upgrades which can be done over time!

are those prices in US or in canadian?

I am never ever buying ANYTHING from ebay.
No warranty, and you could end up buying a bottle cap and not a comp.

my cousin has a good business selling quad parts.

im going to assume those prices are in american.

Ï'm pretty certain it's in US Dollars, $490 Canadian would be insanely cheap for this:

Complete sys - AMD Athlon XP 3200 512KB 400 MHz FSB Win CD COA( Best bottom prices guarantee )
Details:
MUST MENTION PRICE WATCH-- 128MB 20GB High Performance Integrated Video & HiFi 3D Suround CD Quality Audio in Slim Compact footPrint Box.

And all/most sellers are in the US.

those are still some pretty good computers for that price, unfortunatly, they dont come with keyboard, mouse, speakers, etc...

just the computer itself.

but I got no problem with that.

seems like the price for a 400 dollar computer then is just...... about 550 dollars canadian.

that kicks ass! and i can always upgrade the computer later ^_^

Dude, most of the stuff about that system sucks.
Are you that desperat?
You don't want a ECS motherboard, trust me.
You don't want a FX5200.
The only reason why it's so cheap is because it's basically crap. Everything other than the CPU (Misunderstanding the more ghz the better comp, a lot of other stuff too) sucks.

I would maybe give 300USD for it..

Zan, I've bought comp's on eBay, as well as the parts to build them, with no problems. I will say this tho, that you check the sellers ratings. Any seller with less than 95% satisfaction rating and a high sales rank, you might skip over.

One guy I can recommend is "Geek Deal"; he has an eBay store, and is worth looking at. Plenty of quality name parts and some "bare bones" systems, if you're into building.

Good luck.

internetishop on ebay, theyre pretty good. I bought plenty of shit on ebay and have not had one problem with anything. Like i said, you might wanna check out newegg.com, theyre 100% damn near the best you can find that offers free 3 day shipping (usually comes within 2-3 days). Any theyre refurbish items own. They just own period.

Bonnie was going to buy me a ti4600 refurbish from them, so i ordered it and about a half hour later it on the site it said sold out, so i thought cool i got the last one. Well the next day (i ordered overnight shipping) i got the package and here to find out its the retail version, box software drivers cables and all, but for the refurbish price. So that alone saved me $100. I woulda expected a email saying theyre sold out and they apologize if that was any other company.

Be Carefull on ebay.

Mostly ive been well served untill I decided to buy a comp off there :P

They were giving it away for something like 250 quid
so i emailed them and asked for the details (apparently they said it was the full computer with no postage and packing  )
I knew I could get money back if they dont send the goods
so I bought it.

First week the communication was good he kept me up to date etc.
by the second week the communication broke down and he wouldent reply to my e-mails we told Ebay and they explained what 2 do.
when it got to the 3rd week he had tottaly abandoned his email addy :p

so I got the money back but it was a fucking waste of time.

Matty.

I believe it is pointless to buy mobo without SATA this days.

ESC is generally not trusted mobo manufacturer.
Onboard soundcard = teh suxx and in most cases it is good only to be turned off and SB sticked in.
HDD 7200 is cool, but it has to have a 8MB cache and 133 interface.
FX5200 can have 64-bit memory which is only bit cheaper but much slower.
When DDR400 were just introduced, most brandless manufacturers had no technology to build them correctly, so old DDR400 chips likes to cause some serious problems.

That is the way u build cheap computers....
