Right. I just formatted, and backed up my old neocron folder. I copied them from my CD to my drive, here's the problem though. When I go to launch neocron, I get told that I need to put my NC CD into the drive. Thing is, I don't have the CD's anymore. Although I never needed them before, and as this is a exact copy of my old folder, I have no clue what's going on with it...

Anyone know how to fix it?

No, I didn't, when I open the little window thinger(using NLPro), it thinks that i logged on to play NC, when I actually didn't.

Yeah, still getting the error.

Maybe it's looking for a specific path? Or a registry key?

I suppose that if worse comes to worse, you could just get the download client and re-install from that.

If you've got Windows 2000, XP, or *cough* Longhorn, right click the task bar and select "Task Manager". Switch to the "Process" tab and take a look at what's using the most CPU power. Ignore it if it's "System Idle Process". :p Then just search for the name of the file you find.

terrain.pak is the file that can be left on CDROM or put to c:\ for all copies of to share it. terraincd.dat is the file that controls presence of .pak on hdd - lack of this file leads to "insert cd" messagebox.

I had this problem once before, I did need to reinstall, but you can get into the game I think by just launching the client.exe and ignoring the error message in the mean time. From what I remember anyway.
