We have made a clan video - all the video is done, except for the compression (avi file).

Im the one doing it, and know very little about avi compression.

So far using the basic options, i made a 722mb video - thats TERRIBLE in quality....

Good quality video using the divxpro codec, is 26gb.......

its only a 3 min video, made from FRAPS MPEG clips.

I'd appreciate any advice you can give me to get the file down to around 100mb - as in, easy to upload, and download...

It must maintain its quality, but not be a huge file :(

anyone? :D

Thanks

Fang

the videos natural res is 640x480
Frame rate = 25fps

edit - just used mpeg 4, really bad quality, but only 32mb

Im goin to keep tweaking using MPEG 4, i might get it done some time this month...

you should easily be able to get that to 15MB a min or less using DivX or even MPEG2

DVD only uses 60MB a min

don't know what settings you have been trying, any more info?

Dr. Divix works well for making Avi files tiny. It's just a trial though...

not sure if you have the option, but do variable bitrate with multiple pass optimisation for max quality and min size
