View Full Version : 1 CST point = 1/2 repair point?

Just a little something I thought would help out some tradeskillers. I think every CST point should be equal to 1/2 a Repair point meaning, if I have 200CST I should automaticaly be able to repair TL100. The way I think of it is, if someone can modify, and build weapons, why wouldn't they have some knowledge of fixing them? I think it would help tradeskillers a bit. I know every repair point is equal to 2 TL lvls but Dex has the most skill sinks of any other mainskill imo.

Questions/Comments?

Good idea. Sure makes a lotta sense but even more so if its 1/4 like Omnituens suggested.

sex/5 stars.

Yes but make it 1/4. :)

I can go for 1/4, but also, the skill point in CST should be rounded DOWN meaning if I have 7 cst I can still only do TL1 =P. Thats on the 1/4 scale.

1/4 or 1/3 (although I don't think the latter would work) looks good, and it's a good idea as whole.

5 stars. :)

Yes because it just makes.

Not bad.. but wouldn't this put existing repairers out of business?

Figure 200 construct skill.

1/2. 100x2 = TL 200 repair.

1/3. 66x2 = TL 132 repair.

1/4. 50x2 = TL 100 repair.

Mix that with the high dex that most constructors already have, and this would make it so repair people are only sought out for higher TL items.

I say leave it as it is now.

I don't think it would put the current repairers out of business if it was only 1/4 per CST point and rounded down. Highest you would get is TL50 or so alone on CST. If you would combine it with some repair from dex you can go a bit higher without completely gimping your dex because you have 25 points to spare in dex now. But then again if you have 255cst you're already gimp and don't have many options in Dex. It's not a big difference but i think it would be a nice way to boost tradeskillers a bit.

yes but it should work abit like rmc to hack, in that its a bonus. ie a tl 100 item still needs 50 rep, but points in const add a bonus to your repp so 100 const and 50 repp will be equiv. to 75 repp, but you couldnt repp to 150.

this is would be cool, would esentially create a repair op too

I forgot about Factories :p
Guess it's a nice way to use OPs a little more. Higher TL repair means less condition loss on items, right? I've never tested it.

GOod IDea but 1/4 (TL not skill, as skill would make it 1/2)

Can imagine it now "Repairing TL600" :)

Thats why they're researchers...they tell the csters how it goes together with bps. The cster is the one that makes it. Just like Architects and Contractors ;)
