OK heres the deal I have a spy constructor hes quite enjoyable, he has his off days and his on days
im only 90 base int and dex and i really, really cant stomach capping another spy. yes, i would rather jump off a 50 foot building then cap another spy.
so my question is, are capped PE constructors as GOOD at constructing (slots/stats/etc) as a capped SPY constructor? I heard they were...
the way I see it is this:
0.25(25%) DEX + 0.1(10%) INT + 0.6(60%) CST
a PE cannot get as much construction, dex OR int as a spy. BUT... is this formula based PURELY on NUMBERS, or on how close to "cap" you are in those skills?
for example, does that 25% dex mean...a spy with 125 dex would get more of a bonus then a pe with 100 dex? or is it like, a PE thats 75 dex out of 80 dex would get the same bonus as a spy thats, say, 93 dex out of 100 dex.
Anyone got any ideas? Im wondering basically if a PE can construct on as high of a level as a spy...some people say yay, some people say nay, your thoughts?

A capped spy needs somewhere about 120/130 in cst skill to
cap all items in game, other then that it's just speed increase
and fail decrease, so a PE would need somewhere about
150ish or something. From what i've heard PEs make the best
constructors. Not to many around, hopefully [tgr]killer will post
info about his former pe constructor. He did a damn good job

Yea [TrG]Chicky aka Killer had a pure tradeskiller char.
She made awsome rares with 3+ slots on them and well over 110% stats. So its a option need about 140 - 150 CST to cap the char. So that shouldnt be a problem, tradeskill only are kinda dull but if you need a tradeskiller why not :D

I have a capped construct PE, I can reach all quality caps though I've yet to ever make a slotted rare.

Yeah, I know they're random, but the random slot generator thing doesn't seem to like me much.

Zone.... if you wanna test your theory, wanna make a 40 count of blacksuns (ill do the BPs if you cant face that)? Cos they are the bain of my life right now, I have made about 250 of the little suckers, no sign of a 4/5 slotter....
I tried plaza/factory/drugs/no drugs, im so not down with that.... im not 100% const, got 170 const with glove in plaza
using hawkins, ss, cst2 and 3 (theory being i can spend other points on my barter) both intel and dex are about lvl 94
HEW (plaza3 division) are overstocked with blacksuns right now, sometimes they hide behind the desk when the see me slowly walking towards them with a sack load of guns :)

Hahahah I actually got a FUNNY story about blacksuns, and how I got my 5slot. Went through 175bps before seeing a 5slot. The funny part of the story is, Pwnage logged on my acct the next morning, made 25 blacksun bps, constructed them, and got 2 5slot blacksuns from 25 bps! HAHAHAHA
Slots are just BULLSHIT luck and ur getting some bad luck there...
Im looking for maybe some feedback from someone who has done alot of rares on a PE constructor, good/bad slottage/stats?
I've heard old school pluto people swear by PE consters, it's enough to make one think STR plays a part in construction
slots and stats on rares are pure LUCK.
If you hear about a PE who does it etter, its not cause hes better, its just cause hes not a spy, so you remeber him.

Slottage is shit. That's what it truly is. Before I went to saturn, I had a cst friend (nearly capped spy) build me 500 holy heals. I got one 5 slotted. :o

Our PE conster on Uranus is cool, he built a 3 slot healing light with 115 stats , boh with 2 117stats and 2 112 stats.. some good stuff, not better than spy not worse than spy
Only thing the PE needs, is a factory and some drugs ;)

My PE constructor made a 4 slot and 5 slot CS, 5 slot RoLH, 3 slot (already 120/120/120/120 Judge - UNMODDED)
This is without factory, but WITH drugs.

Chicky was a damn good constructor.. 171 research skill.. made sooo much nice stuff.. before i rerolled her :p
i have a PE CONSTRUCTOR and i love it 217 CST whi factory and buff and i make all the time a artefact stat and the rest 11* so PE are good CSTer
LOL. How is it people can say slots are random... and then say that so and so is a "good constructor".
For the record, a "good constructor" is any runner than can build a Punisher from a BP to its capped quality. Once there, you are as good as you get.
So no difference between PEs and Spies. Just that PEs will need more Construct skill to get to the cap level than Spies will since spies have more Int/Dex. A PE will likely cap quicker though... hehe.
And no, Str does not play a role in Construction.
Heard rumors once that PEs are in fact the best constructors, but I never had much luck when I tried it once. But rumors are just that, rumors.

I agree with what you say about capping spies, it's soul destroying if you don't like levelling and I will never ever do it again. Once is quite enough. o_O
PE constructors are damn fun lol. I love my new melee/apu/conster/repairer/vhc PE she rules! built a 5 slot long laser sword 2 the other day in one try. Still can use my 3 slot energy halo plus sword lol...lomming back to ppu soon...

constructing is bullshit tbh
if a Pe can get the same results as a spy then what is the point in a spy tradeskiller.
personally i think your quality and ability should be down to your skill.
the more skill the higher the cap
i.e a conster with 200 should get better stats and slots than a pe with or spy with 120
i only log on my conster by request, and previously i refused to build liberators due to past 8 being non or 1 slot, but a couple of weeks ago i atlast got a decent one, 4 slot which is now in the possetion of Ladyluck
