thank kk...the latest patch has just screwed my nc which ive lost 1 of the 2 disc's for, great job, bravo *claps* :mad: :mad:
Care to elaborate?
perhaps a reinstall could be avoided.

Well there is no one on the planet that knows wot this game does....i doubt kk even know 75% how this game does things....:rolleyes: so how am i sposed to know? it wont load, it just gets to the screen before ur login and freezes and i need to ctrl+alt+delete and it says "Neocron : Not Responding" everytime.

I had that exact same problem before. I found there was a program called "Cthelper" that was slowing down my computer like fuck. Think it's something to do with my sound card but don't really know. There's probably a bugged program slowing your comp down.
my cpu is idleling at 0% - 5% usage....on 2.6ghz[@2.2ghz] so it can take some hammering before it starts to freeze my pc :/ but i did check that program u just mentioned....i got one running atm called "CTHELPER.EXE"...wot should i do to it? end it or is it sumthin serious like? o_O
That would be the Creative tray icon helper. Unless you make frequent use of that it is probably ok to terminate the process.
If you need to reinstall, try the download version. It comes pre-patched up to like 174.
stop all unnessecarry background proccessses ...your computer tray not NC is to blame....there is about 100000000000 threads on this shit already
I dont get it, my pc doesnt just turn to shit overnight.....but nc was workin fine last night, pre patch, now its patched it isnt working, kinda suspicious no?

reinstall your sound and graffics card mate
naw its trying to load your system memory is just too full cause of crappy programs running on your system tray....go to task manager .. and end all unneccessary proccesses and that should fix it.....
I happens whne you go to too many porn sites ;P
Yeah come to think of it, i did browse alot of porn last night so that might explain the pc turning to shit overnight :lol: j/k
try ad-aware..... ;)
and run msconfig, go to the start-up tab and see what kind of crap your pc is running without you even wanting it..
and run services.msc and disable the ones you dont need...
but that's just general pc-optimization for the die-hard nerd... uhm.. i mean gamer... :D

yeah... works on 200x versions to..
Gives a list of all services, what they do, and if they're started or not. Some of them are started, but you dont need 'm (and are thus wasting resources).
[nm:o] i normally exit all the tray icon stuff bar winamp/msn/my modem light thingy and my connection status....but ive never had a problem with any game with the creative thing running...i used to use it instead of winamp 3 but winamp 5 > all :)

ok this update launcher is taking the piss now...a 3mb file and of my judgement wont be downloaded for at least another 15 mins..
If i go on my bro's pc and send the file over msn will it work or will that really screw things up? :confused:

Can't you get to ftp://ftp.neocron.com? It's a lot faster than using the launcher to do it.
You can dowload all the patches at full speed here: click click clik (http://www.neocron.com/patcher/index.php?PAGE=patch&LANG=eng) (which is, in fact, ftp.neocron.com yes :D)
its not a patch...its broken files :( and i need a 3mb cave file which is currently downloading now and has been for the last 10 mins and is only 1mb into it....kk need to sort this shit to
you can copy that file from another NC installation, yes.
but if your installation has broken files, i'd certainly think about doing a fresh installation... files just dont "break" that easily, either they are just not broken and nc thought they were, or there's really something wrong with your rig...
Dont know wot it is....but i restored my pc back to the future...so im still left with the neocron not responding shit but i just found the other half of my nc ;) so gunna do a fresh install [which i still shouldnt have to do to fix countless problems, bleh]
I ahd the prob b4 the patch, I just restarted my comp and the comp that my internet connection is running off, then it works perfect.
i tried that twice...didnt work, ive had it do this before and a restart did fix it previously but not this time...its propa' borked :(

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH someone has the same problem I did afew weeks ago! ANd everyone suggested oooh its this and its that.
Turns out my motherboard reduces the activity of my programs when it is over heating..
Check your fan inside your computer, the fan on my heat sync had stopped, causing my computer to slow down programs or stop them working to remain cool.
Fixed mine in 10 minutes then everything was fine and dandy:angel:
If you use a firewall that identifies the programs connected to the net, it may now be rejecting client.exe because it's changed since the patch. Just an idea as if it does block it then NC will never load and hang before you get to the server screen.
