Quit to desktop when arrow keys pressed?

got a wierd error of the game quitting to desktop when the arrow keys are pressed.

just wondered if anyone else had experienced/fixed this?

Asus ATI Radeon 9800XT/TVD 256MB & Half Life 2 Bundle
Corsair 1GB DDR XMS4000 Pro TwinX (2x512MB) Platinum CAS3
Abit IC7-G MAX2 Advance "Canterwood" (Socket 478) motherboard
Intel Pentium 4 3.0GHz (800FSB) with HT Technology

running the asus video drivers on win xp pro.

what are the commands to show the serverping status in neocron, and also skip the intro at the start of loading neocron?

I had this problem when running ventrilo....you need to change something in ventrilo settings and all will be well....cant remember what that something is though :/

Same prob can happen with other voice comms software as well. I know in TS or Battlecom (I forget which) by default arrow keys change rooms in the chat client- and that freaks out Neocron.

Do you have the *EVIL* ATI utility thingy running in your system tray? I believe that's been known to cause problems with NC before (and cause problems with everything I've got ever). Try turning it off (Display Properties, Settings, Advanced, some check box somewhere about ATI tray icon key thingy - exact description escapes me sorry).

Numlock only works with the number pad arrows...Not the normal ones...

I remapped my keys after that anyway as I coudn't be bothered to figure it out... And my new keymap is much much better, it's basically the same as the Morrowind one and I can react so much faster with it...

I also have the ATI thing running, so thats probably the main reason...

yeah but in the coms it will still make you quit to desktop when you press the normal keys, if your running voice turn of numlock.

i run voice comms and have numlock on with 0 problems

sorted, it was the bag o sh*te ati program.

so whats the commands to:

a: skip the titles when starting neocron

b: display the ping stats?

In Neocron.ini, add

NOSPLASH="true"
NOEXTRO="true"

The ping is Alt+F or something like that ingame. Well, Alt-something.

easier way to fix it without having numlock off if using TS

open TS...hit settings > options > other and TICK 'disable direct input'

yup thats the setup thing i couldnt remember from ventrilo as well...since my expierience withg tS is that the program is crap

everyone thinks ventrillo is so good

ts with a good codec can be just as good, has a way friendlier interface and doesn't have that annoying voice saying "yadda yadda has joined the server" :rolleyes:

yea thats all it is....personal preference

ive ran a TS server for a LONG time now and frankly im 100% used to it, all my friends use it, and I have absolutely no reason in the world to change....I guess that right there explains why I like it :p
