Note: This is very much true. I helped him write his smithing macro scripts. He was making about 20000 dollars a day in platinum sales alone at his peak. Not to mention his item sales.

And to think, I first befriended Jon when we exploited CT together ;( Now he's like a millionaire.

It's very possible.
Everquest is highly addictive from what I've heard (I'm afraid to try it myself) and has a large player base. Kinda like drugs. If people want more, they'll pay topdollar to obtain.

yeah but I am pointing out that it's insane 20k a day is total bs for someone in a game. I find it hard to believe. and crackheads dont die, they just multiply :D

well ff11 is and can get very boring if you dont have a team, but to me it looks like a cash cow. a lot of ppl play it and there are some really nice rare items, and many of them at that. if I make 500 a day sellin stuff I'll buy you all a free month of neocron :D

Yantis had a whole team working for him. He also had an entire house of computers running his macros on well.

He would sell 100k plat for 1000 US dollars, he would sell at least 1 100k batch each day on every server, most he ever made in a day was 60000 dollars.

Also take into account that he sold 1k, 10k, 20, 50, 100k batches. He also sold many items on each server.

And no he didnt report any of it to the IRS.

When I played EQ (3 years ago) I had a friend that payed $2300 for a character......and reguallarly bought plat. He probably spent $50 a week on plat. EQ had around 300 thousand players when I played. Let's say 1% of those people payed 20 dollars a week for plat. I don't think that's too unreasonable considering I saw how addictive it was to my friends. On that VERY moddest scale above he was making 60k a week.

i made 4000 dollars in the summer of 1999 when i was 16 years old selling everquest jewlery in my spare time.

It's too bad NC doesn't have the playerbase EQ does, I'd be a thousandaire.
