Ok, well as it stands when you make your character half of the "jobs" that you can choose from are complete and utter gimps.

So what I propose is to change the "jobs" to names of setups and then give the noobs a GOOD setup to start of with. Also make sure that there is a dialog box somewhere which tells them what equipment they get at the beginning and what that class is about. And maybe give them a BP of the next weapon that they will need. So under the Tank class there would be the list:

Tank:

Melee Tank - A Gen-Tank which specialises in using Melee weapons such as Claws, Swords and Knives. They are very fast and are quite good for fighting the AI monsters in the game. Not so good for fighting other players.

Equipment: Brassknuckles, Kevlar Vest 1, Medikit, BP of Combat knife, 3 stam boosters, Stilleto/knife (no reqs weapon, just insace they loose their knuckles)

Heavy Combat Tank - A Gen-Tank which specialises in using Cannons such as the plasma cannon. They are slow but powerful and have a medium defence. Good in battles with multiple participants.

Equipment: Brassknuckles, Kevlar Vest 1, Medikit, BP Unlabeled Laser Cannon, 3 stam boosters, Stilleto/knife (no reqs weapon, just insace they loose their knuckles)

Tank may have been a bad class to use as an example due to the HC tanks first actual weapon being TL 20 (which is the most gay thing in the world btw, it should have some lower TL cannons)

I hope you understand the general idea... making it easyer for Noobs to get into the game.

5 stars, this needs to be done. Good idea.

But here is what I would do. (small changes)

Heavy Infantry <-----(note: more roleplay title)
Specialising in Heavy Support. A Gen-Tank is the best suited class for this proffession, commonly weilding Shoulder Mounted Cannons and Grenades.

Inventory
Stilletto
Brass Knuckles
Blueprint of Unlabled Laser Cannon
5x Unlabled Trash Grenades
Cron Beer, Medikit, Stamina Booster x6, light Kelver Chest <---------(more roleplay items, plus grenades)

Melee Specialist
Melee tanks dedicate there time to optimising the skills with close quarters melee weapons, from simpler knifes, to fortified swords and laserblades. <-----------(don't state that the melee tank is inferioir as it's down to player skill and subject to change)

Inventory
Stilletto
Brass Knuckles
Blueprint of Speciall alloy combat knife
Copy of nema, Jack Whisky, Medikit x5, stamina booster x2, light Kelver Chest

Street Fighter <--------(don't forget the hybrid)
This tanks will never be as efficient with there weapons as a specialist, but they use a combination of melee weapons and shoulder mounted weapons for a more hybrid approach.

Inventory
Baseball Bat <--------(inventory suited to role for roleplaying)
Brass Knuckles + stilletto
Blueprint of Tl20 Baseball Bat (when it gets implamented plz plz)
Cheap booze, Stamina Booster x1, tyronol, light Kelver boots

Yeah that sort of stuff... I was showing an example.

This needs to be done as atm Noobs are coming into the game with what they think is a good starting setup but it isn't. Its shit, and it really pissed them off when you tell them that they have two options: 1) Remake their char 2) LoM for around half an hour.

Perhaps add in the option to auto-spend the points fitting to the job you choose? That would of course be limited up to a certain level (Say, to about a quarterway to cap), but would mean that the newbies would see what is good to spend points on with the type of character they had choosen.

That'd probably be an option which should only be normally set to on when creating your first character.

i think it would be cooler if they had a system which provided the player with equipment based on their highest skills.

i.e. tank who sticks all his dex in pistol gets pistol stuff.

a spy who sticks all his str in melee gets a stilletto and a rifle because he tossed all his dex in rifle.

etc. etc.

but that's just me.
