For musicians/people that LOVE music, this will take a lot of thought.

No big fuck off lists of albums and every song in your playlist....

Which 5 songs still make you feel the same way they did the first time you heard them? Which songs are you never bored of?

Here's mine...

1. Incubus - Just a Phase (Morning View)
2. Metallica - Nothing Else Matters (Metallica [Black Album])
3. Pearl Jam - Alive (Ten)
4. Joe Satriani - The Extremist (The Extremist)
5. Soundgarden - Black Hole Sun (Superunknown)

If you havent heard any of those songs, i recommend every one of the, and the albums they are taken from. :D

Most people havn't heard of Godspeed, I'm really surprised when anybody responds any feedback when I post my music tastes. Absolutely everybody who I have shown Godspeed to has responded with something along the lines of... "wow, thats really good!".... pretty cool huh?

I also like bands like Incubus, NIN, stuff like that. But I don't like it anywhere near as much as I love Godspeed You! Black Emporer. ;) Good to see another Godspeed fan, like, anywhere! :p

Tough, esp. trying to decide if songs I've only heard in the last month or two (and really like) will stay that way as time passes. Plus with some fairly strong contrasts between cds in my collection it's hard to say if I like one song more than another cos I'll like them for different reasons.

But I'll give it a try - first two are my joint favourites, rest are less certain. And I'm keeping it to one per artist or it'd be far too difficult to narrow it down to 5. And I'm probably talking too much when all I needed to do was post 5 songs

1. Miranda Sex Garden - A Fairytale About Slavery (Fairytales of Slavery)
2. Tori Amos - Waitress (live version - To Venus And Back)
3. Alabama 3 - Peace in the Valley (Exile on Coldharbour Lane)
4. Collide - Razor Sharp (Chasing the Ghost)
5. Sarah McLachlan - Possession (Fumbling Towards Ecstacy, and esp. the live version on Mirrorball)

Step inside! Hello! We've the most amazing show
You'll enjoy it all we know
Step inside! Step Inside!

We've got thrills and shocks, supersonic fighting cocks.
Leave your hammers at the box
Come Inside! Come Inside!
Roll up! Roll up! Roll up!
See the show!

Left behind the bars, rows of Bishops' heads in jars
and a bomb inside a car
Spectacular! Spectacular!

If you follow me there's a speciality
some tears for you to see
Misery, misery,
Roll up! Roll up! Roll up!
See the show!

Next upon the bill in our House of Vaudeville
We've a stripper in a till
What a thrill! What a thrill!
And not content with that, with our hands behind our backs,
We pull Jesus from a hat,
Get into that! Get into that!
Roll up! Roll up! Roll up!
See the show!

Welcome back my friends to the show that never ends
We're so glad you could attend
Come inside! Come inside!
There behind a glass is a real blade of grass
be careful as you pass.
Move along! Move along!

Come inside, the show's about to start
guaranteed to blow your head apart
Rest assured you'll get your money's worth
The greatest show in Heaven, Hell or Earth.
You've got to see the show, it's a dynamo.
You've got to see the show, it's rock and roll ....

Soon the Gypsy Queen in a glaze of Vaseline
Will perform on guillotine
What a scene! What a scene!
Next upon the stand will you please extend a hand
to Alexander's Ragtime Band
Roll up! Roll up! Roll up!
See the show!

Performing on a stool we've a sight to make you drool
Seven virgins and a mule
Keep it cool. Keep it cool.
We would like it to be known the exhibits that were shown
were exclusively our own,
All our own. All our own.
Come and see the show! Come and see the show! Come and see the show!
See the show!

I only did it this once and only because I love that song. Also it's old enough that many may not know it. If it's objectionable, let me know and I'll edit it out.

and I didn't copy+paste, I have the CD and typed it in from the whateveryoucallit in the CD case.

I normally listen to albums not songs... Have too much music to pay particular attention to individual songs...

However, here's a few that I really love... In no particular order:

Venom - Black Metal
Bolt Thrower - World Eater (94 re-recording)
Death - Crystal Mountain
Testament - D. N. R. (Do Not Resuscitate)
Vader - Litany

Could put way more than five...

One i will commit to text. no one im sure will have heard of it but its a prized possession of mine.

Its a white label release by a pair of the best hard house producers/remixers in the music biz called pants and corset. the track is malice in wonderland. as far as i know it was dedicated to laurence malice (sp?) the one time promoter of trade in london.

basically it rocks. anyone who likes the modern dance scene will have heard of it but its not typical cheesy dance track like some that have been mentioned previous.
