View Full Version : Reinstallation with Patches on CD
Ok, i'm weak, i'm reinstalling.
Before i canceled my reg i did burn all patches onto CD 13x to 191, now i place them back into patches directory and the game still starts downloading patches (>160) from the FTP.
How do i get it to recognise that the patches > 160 are already downloaded when i select Update Launcher?

Delete patch 159 or try downloading the "us patcher bug fix" on the neocron launcher.

looooooooooool KK do something..... ffs make a new patch pack that does all this.. How many questions have you seen this week? 10 15 ? hmmmm its weak really weak, and if you wanna get the oldies back ffs make it easier to install..

well i'd imagine NC:BDOY on disc will be completely patched up and ready to run directly after install, :D

Just include a installation pack which includes all patches up to 190, as well as the current launcher. Link people to this when they register/re-activate their account, with a link saying something along the lines of "To make your (re)installation easier, download and install this after Neocron has been installed."
Thats the least they could do , cause we will have to pay for it after all

While I am sure that is true, too.
Will we still have the same problem with future patches in NC:BDoY, or will it be fixed?

I guess what I meant by "Will we still have the same problem with future patches in NC:BDoY, or will it be fixed?" is, will NC:BDoY's auto updater have this fix in it?
That way, it won't ever be a problem for anything ever again. That is, until it happens again. :)

Infact KK DID FIX IT. Unfortunally KK cant change the files you burend on CDs. If you'd use the patch #135 from an official source rather than a backed up version, the launcher would run proper.

That it happens often is in no doubt.
But i say it again:
KK cant fix a binary that is burned on your HDD/CD.
Just simple as this. How do u suppose to provide the patch ?
As a fixed patchfile on the server -> Done
As an additional .exe Download -> Done
New CDs? Will come with DoY. -> In planning
So tell me the method KK could fix it. Tell me a way. Im sure KK will do it instantly.

What do you consider "an official source"? Do you mean the retail CD's or some download?

The official source is the one on KKs Server. The CDs were produced before this bug was known, the cant contain the Fix.
Ok, so from where does one obtain this elusive Patch 135?
Why not have a sticky to this then about patch 160 and 183 or what it is... I mean why should we help them when its KK:s work..
Ok its not that hard to say. d/l the new launcher "where you can find in tiny whiny text on the window where you start..."
Then delet the small ones before 159 and auto d/l it then you are fine... bha

Oh my god! How long has this problem been floating around? Why haven't you fixed this issue alrady? I mean it's very annoying for a newcomer when he's/she's installing the game he/she bought and can't play. And just how could he know how to fix the problem without these forums or a friend who knows about this issue? It's definitely a huge minus for this game looking with eyes of a newcomer, don't you agree?

Ok, ive looked into it again (where the files are etc.
It actually seems that this patch (which is original included on the CDs) is no longer available via KKs page. But afair there where some different versions of #135 around, and if i remember further NN has the fixed patch loaded up:

It would be nice if it gets included in the official Patchcenter again. (I think it got lost when the big update exe's where made)
