Trouble running NC, please help.

I run neocron and it pauses right before the login screen loads and this is when it says "connecting" yet i can ping the server just fine and tracert shows no impedment. Any ideas what is wrong here? i have reinstalled NC and it still does the same thing. Help.

Turn off any firewalls you got. There is also a known problem with zone alarm and the new patch they released for it.

I'm pretty bad at these kinda things but...maybe...

ur firewall is blocking the port NC uses to connect to the server?

Both good guesses, and i'm looking into them. Does anyone know how to use the system restore utility so i can restore it to say..yesterdays settings? gonna try that, but don't now how in windows xp. Anyone?

did you get ::

new router
new internet
activate any firewalls within windows
activate any firewalls besides windows internal
did you close any ports


did your ISP ::

close ports due to ie. hacker attacks
change your routers setup
