don't you guys know that christmas is actually a pagan holiday which originated by some freaks worshiping the son god or something....it has nothing to do with religion anymore and its basically just one big farse. In all reality, you can buy loved ones gifts any day, 365 days a year who says you need a date for it.

Yes it is pagan but it never started as a holyday to celebrate jesus. In fact Catholique church Deceide to go with the people belief after decenny off trying to kill those festivity. When they saw that they could not prevent people from doing all those pagan rituals they integrated that stuff into their religion. sying brith of jesus and blah blah blah...
As for the commercial aspect of it, you can thank Coca-cola for it.
In fact santa-claus as we know him never existed (i know him he never existed, i'm talking about the myth). in fact Santa was a green bad skinny guys who stole the gift of the bad children..
So Coke needed a commercial stunt, for the hollyday. They toke the bad "santa" and made him a good old fat granpa, so kid wont be scared off and would want to buy there product. Since then it as spread worldwide (like many other thing in our culture).

meh i use it instead of Xmas, Crimbo meaning Christmas, i dunno how it evolved from Crimbo or where it came from, but i know i didnt just make it up in my head, :p ive heard it used before and i sort of picked it up,

Where are you from? I figured it just replaced Christmas from what I saw on my google search but I still couldn't find anything about where it came from. And it isn't in the dictionary either. :eek: I kind of like it actually. :p

:D Crimbo is teh l337, im from North East England, Newcastle to be presice, i think it was first used in middlesbourgh, im not 100% sure on that. its not in the dictionary as i think its just a slang word, but its still uber :D :p
