View Full Version : LIVE RUN : Screens included ;)
Yesterday, at about 8pm GMT I was DMd by an "enemy" clan leader, Lilly^s Scwester from The Synchronizerz.
Lilly asked me if i had a char that was friendly or neutral to biotech...
SO i logged my BD tank. She said to come to P3 ASAP for a live run...
Because i havent read up on these, i didnt know what to expect.
Mission 1, sent to Lill via email, Go and see Aren Ishii at Biotech HQ in your team of ten.
Off we plodded to see Aren. Aren told us that Biotech are looking for a group of runners to find a constructor named Marchant out in the wastes. We were told that a hacker named Eldil would be able to help us locate Marchant. The hacker was "Just north of Crest Uplink".
So, in a group, we GR and meet up at Krupp Factory. We run towards crest uplink and find Eldil with a little camp setup, as promised, just north of Crest uplink.
Eldil said in return for informing us of Marchants location, he will require fresh batqueen imps from the BatQueen. He said that they MUST be fresh, and if they were not, he would know. Eldil also had a phobia of Power Armours, and ran like billy fuck away from us for the first few mins :lol:
We plodded off to the batqueen cave just NW of Crest. In a group of 10, we successfully kill 3 Batqueens (No screens - im sure youve seen it!). We only managed to loot 1 BQ arm from all 3, and suffered severe casualties (the spies in particular ;))
Afterwards, we returned to Eldil who gave us the location of Marchant, "Around El Farid Village".
So we GR to El Farid, evetually find Marchant in hiding in a little camping area. We then get the message from Aren (in team with us so she could keep track of our progress) :
"TANGENT SPIES ARE ATTEMPTING TO SABOTAGE THE MISSION"
"TERMINATE HIM NOW, WE CANNOT LET TANGENT GET THEIR HANDS ON HIM"
So we open fire, and do 0 damage. Marchant tells us that he is wearing a protection imp that he has recently invented, as Aren has made several attempts to kill him in the past.

Marchant then offered us a deal:
"It's Aren or me. You must kill one of us, and i will now disable my protection ring and will be vulnerable. You can either do the 'right thing' and kill Aren so I can live in peace, or you can kill me, and collect your reward from Aren"

Eldil asked that we return to him with Arens dogtags. We eventually decided on a compromise. We "lied" to Aren at Bio HQ and said that if we kill her and ressurect her to get the tags, he would lower his guard so we could kill him (aiming to collect both rewards ;)). Aren retaliated by cursing and demanding that we "FINISH THE JOB, MORONS - YOU WILL NOT HURT ME!"
Impulsive like i am, i opened fire on Aren, as did the 9 other people with me. Aren was killed, then vanished. Biotech security was in place, and several of Marchants inventions, the Y Replicants filled the HQ in a matter of 2 seconds.
I was the first to die, as i was one of only 3 people in the room at the time, and decided to attack the Replicants.

We eventually escpaed the HQ and proceeded back to Marchant at El Farid Village with Aren's tags, as promised.
Marchant was delighted that we had killed Aren, and in reward, offered us 3 of the RARE Machina Gloves.
We took: Construction, Research and Implant.
The Live run took around 3 hours to complete, and required 100% team work and co-operation. We built a great foundation between 2 enemy clans, and had a lot of fun. At the end of the event, we were greeted by the GM's taking part in the run, playing the numerous characters we encountered (Penzius, Honeypot, and i believe there was one more)

Overall, it was a very fun event, and i recommend to all that you put your names down on the list (Sticky in this forum).

this wasnt a event. It was a live run. it was 10 hand picked runners who volunteered for it.
This is the epitome of fun. I wish the GM's would do this more often.

Are there any specific requirements to get chosen for a live run (like being lv60+, etc.), or is the selection process completely random?
I've just not heard much about these live runs, thats all, and they sounded like a good thing to take part in, lol :)

look at sticky. all they ask for is your name / server so i assume thats all they base it on. i believe its random

no. it was a group chosen for the events. Rabbi was chosen for it.

Anyway, it was one of the best experiences I ever had in Neocron.

when the biotech monk who hired us joined the team and spoke i was :eek: Aren is my RL name spelt exactly like that, kinda freaked me out.
oh and fang you didn't mention that we tried to scam marchant by prentending that we killed Aren getting the reward off marchant then killign him to get the reward off biotech. Woulda worked too if it wasn't for that stuckup bitch :p
all the chars were played very well, i especialy liked the PA phobia that was cool.
I suggest everyone signup and have a go, you won't be dissapointed

Why isn't there anything like this going on in saturn??? This is the kind of stuff that kicks ass.
I had a LIVE run ONCE before. basicaly it had us lost in OZ to find this appt...we found teh appt adn we were suppose to kill some dude inside...but it was a safe zone so we couldn't complete it. at the end of it all we got 100k for each clan that was there...(not each member just 100k for each clan that was there)

Marchant have a ring of protection and everyone dont kill him.
He sad he can not live in this world with Aren the Gangster.

With little injuries we survive this action. you can see on the picture. That Bio-tech use a Mutant-Zoo as Guards.
With the Dog Tag of Aren we go back to Marchant. And get our reward.

Just get up ur ass and be interested in doing such a thing like happened on ura. Any Server can have this, but u have to do something for it not just sit around, breaking up the fingers in ur nose, and hoping for someone to bring the fun up to u ;)
Bring your ideas and your char and some fantasy and u will see there will be much more fun than hunting for rares or PKing :D
