View Full Version : OT: Best movie ever
Resurrection of the Little Match Girl!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It's a korean movie, that's a spoof of the Matrix, as well as a lot of other things. C'mon, any movie with games like Starcraft, Gunblade, House of the Dead 2 and Time Crisis 2 in it, can't be that bad.
If you've seen it, I think KK should make a new rare called the mackerel. It comes with 108 shots, but there isn't any ammo for it in the game. Hehehhee.

PPG movie > all your sorry arses.
The original The Italian Job owns everything
Also lock stock and 2 smokin barrels . . .
If you ignore that reheated (Oh, I'm sorry I meant reloaded) and revolutions exist then the original Matrix owns.
Animation films: Grave of the fireflies... *sob* :)
Other: Dunno, so many good. Donnie Darko was very good, though I'd have to say the Indiana Jones trilogy as it was such a big part of my childhood. :)

oh shit, i forgot. The Seven Samurai that movie was the greatest thing I ever saw.the only movie that ever "moved" me ;)
damnit I need to brush up on my spelling :(
If you like 7 Samurai check out Throne of Blood and Ran.
Kurosawa doing Shakespeare is about as good as cinema can get.
Only Director ever to work consistently in Kurasawa's league is Kitano and Kitano doing Shakespeare would be terrifying.

I think I seen ran, wasent it the one with that faggy little guy hopping around like a bunny at the begining? he was singing some story or something.
never seen throne of blood, but cool thanks I'll check it out :)
oh yeah dude what's sonatine ? you never replied to that post :D
Yeah that's Ran.
Ran = King Lear
Throne of blood = Macbeth
It's well worth knowing the plays as a lot of the subtlety and complexity in the stories and characters is hard to divine from even the best subs. Both are fantastic movies on their own merits but IMO it helps.

cool, the seven samurai isn't written after a shakespere play is it ?
I hope not. I loved the story and thought it was japaneese folk lore like the masamune and muramasa :D
and when you gonna tell me what sonatine is? :( I know I heard that word before.

Seven Samurai was written by Kurosawa but inspired by an old folklore story he read somewhere IIRC.
Sonatine is the third of Kitano's semi-trilogy of mob movies. He plays the lead character in all three as well as directing, editing, and writing. If you think Goodfellas or The Godfather are all there is to mob movies go check out Kitano's work. He has a wholy different take on things and as much as I love The Godfather it is nothing compared to Sonatine.
The Crow!!!!! :D:D:D
The other ones sucked, but the first one was kick ass!!!!!!

Some one mentioned the movie The Seven Samurai, which jooged my memory of the movie Six String Samurai. Not necessarily my favorite movie, but probably my favorite B movie of all time. It kicks some serious ass. And holy crap its finally out on DVD!!! I know what I'm gonna ask Santa for Christmas.
