ROLH & PEs

Hi

I've just got round to playing with a ROLH with my PE - but as far as I can see - I need to drop my proto chip to use it

(i have adv move/SF/SA/Moto3/Exp Reflex boost 4/PE 4)

is this too big a sacrifice for pvp? I LOVE having a proto (and i would even love plus a moveon more)

Anybody have good experiences with rolh as a viable pvp setup?

change out balance (I assume you meant that, not adv movement), with ballistic 3 chip, change exp reflex 4 to reflex 4, and wear pa4.

I dont use pp resist anymore, and i like my setup. Then again, there are really 2 decent rolh setups for pes.. one with stealth 2, one with stealth 1. Stealth 2 PEs get 161% damage on their RoLH, while stealth 1 nearly/do cap theirs. I just think stealth 2 is the best thing in the world though...

Well, if you dont want to drug you cant use neither moveon nor
pp resistor. Im on a rolh setup now and its very good, but it
takes alot of tinkering to get the defence to a decent level
without moveon or PP resistor. I guess if you ignore poison resist
its not that bad but i like my 80 poison resist, apus have a
tendency to spam me with the shit whereever i go.

I use ballistic 3, balance 3, SF, SA, reflex booster 4 (not
experimental), Filter 2. Works great for me.


Oh yah I use stealth 2 as well. Its teh pwn.

**edit: And RoLH caps with a P-C 3, now that Im back in the Op
war bit of things thats what matters really :)

*shrug* Dont use strength really. The agility points from balance
are worth I think 16 more points than having moto3 and better
armor, so I drop athletics a bit for more resists and overspec agl,
same runspeed but better resist.

**edit: but its no big diff really, the defence only gets slightly
better than with moto3. If you dont like it then its not like its
gonna gimp you completely not to use this setup :P

Oh.. I like armor. And resists. Do you use stealth 2? I know that If I settled for stealth 1, I'd be a lot better off, but you can't argue with 20 seconds stealth standing, 30 crouching.

So anyway parker, ppr is a big trade off, but you either get a hand cannon of DETH (yes deth, not death), or a semi-hand-cannon-of-DETH / hand-cannon-of-DETH-only-with-a-PPU plus stealth 2, which is better than any armor.

Ive never regretted it and im definately not getting rid of it. You
should see how much I get poisoned and how much difference
this does.

wont you have to drug up to use it once they change the PA stats on the retail servers?

but while its in, as a tank, of all the PEs the ones that do give me hassle are the ROLH PEs.

i just dont like PEs having it as i consider it a spys weapon, though im sure all the PEs who use it will jump on me for saying that.

it is viable to do, takes down tanks quicker than a libby, hell one PE stealthed of just to get his ROLH then came back to kill me lol

well pes have to gimp themself to use rolhs. They run slower than other pistol pes and have far worse defense. They also have a hard time doing any tradeskills if they want decent damage on rolh. It basically makes them like a tank. Tanks don't like that. But tanks can use liberators.....................................
which can make them a PE, but different.

If PEs cant use spy weapons, what can they use? low tech stuff only? PEs should get some reward for specializing in fighting. Tanks do, they run faster. Monks do, they run and cast faster. Spys do, they hit harder.

The PE PA 4 is going to cost more dex soon which means you'll need to drug to use that setup.

if lupus' changes go into affect in the near future, the rolh will drop 1 tl. that means 107 dex. that means PA3 instead of PA4 to use it. :D

Having the PE PA 4 being 105 dex doesnt change anything for
me. Just mean relog or a drug everytime I get SI, I have been
doing that for almost a yaer now with other setups so doesnt
bother me the least.

Sorry to cut in on your %age, but I cant help but notice that all the setups here include the SA.

Im a (newly) capped PE with little to no prospect of getting my hands on a SA, is there any hope for me ?

Now , when i say capped, i have not capped my con, i have a very good PvM setup & i find I receve almost no CON exp when fighting mobs. My question is, do I now need to 'cheat' to cap my con ? I dont even get 1000 CON exp standing toe to toe with a grim. Or should i be mob hunting without armour & with a PPU to pick up the peices ? :confused:

Oh no you dont need a SA. If you go for a lib/BS setup id say
ballistic 3, SF, moveon, distance3/PP resistor, and some reflex
thingie. If you want RoLH you can take my setup, swap the SA for
a moto3 and the reflex booster 4 for a experimental ref booster
4, tadaaa, Just gives you slightly worse stats.
