View Full Version : lagging out = cheating?
Well Neocron seems to be very lag friendly during combat. When someone lags out on their end you can shoot a person up like normal, as if you weren't lagging at all.
To the other person, he/she would be taking damage while the other person could either be really far away or not even in sight. Sometimes the person would take the damage all at once and die instantly without knowing wtf happened.
I've been called a cheater alot because sometimes i play from my cell phone. And I can kill people before they even see me. Is this cheating? Fear my 2k/s connection.

It's not cheating because it's not intentional.
That happened to me too. It's so lame. I was in club veronique chasing "XX". And all of a sudden i'm getting hit by CS bursts and no one is in sight. Then POW, he's in front of me strafing. LAME LAME!

if i was paranoid i would say that this dude has posted this thread
as
A) he wants to see what comunity feels about him doing such a proggy
B) his M8 has one and he wants to try to get him to stop as he thinks its wrong

It wont be h4x till it happens to someone 'uber', then he or she will complain to the 10 GMs/Devs said person knows. Then there will be a huge investigation and heads will roll ... or something.

this happens to sometimes and it annoys the shit out of me.
why cant you get broadband and download porn like normal people!!! :D then use your connection for neocron in your resting periods :p
i do have broad band, sometimes though i want to play neocron while sitting on a park bench or at the beach :p roofles
Yep. I hate the fact that NC does it. It can be especially bad when an APU comes up to you and starts chain-run-casting. You're usually dead before you know what the hell hit you. Then while you're lying on your back being pissed *poof* all of a sudden there's a PA'd APU sexing your dead body. o_O
I've noticed that this effect really started getting going when they decided to move all the damage calcs server side.

it has been like this since beta.. when is KK gonna remove that 10 second thing after u lag out? its just stupid.. and gets many people pwned

Hmm, this reminds me. I got certain program to throttle my speeds (for P2P softwares :angel: ), I could use it to make my Neocron uber laggy and pwnz everyone! :rolleyes: ;)

Which one do you use and how good is it?
I've been looking for something non-shit for bw throttling for ages. Most simply don't work though and I'm not mucking about with IP strings in my spare time.

Yesterday while shooting someone from the second level of PP1 they disappeared in my local and reappeared welded to my ass with a CS, I know of a method to do this and it is most definitely an exploit of the netcode, I survived by some fluke and called him on it. He said it was a bug but I have serious doubts, Stavr0s used to do this 6/7 months ago on Pluto and I seem to remember people got in shit over it.
That program for p2p programs, like bit torrent DC++ kazaa. Set your upload cap to like 1k/s and like screw over people downloading from you hahaha.
This program would not work for "cheating" anyways.
Yeat alot of people use it for Bit Torrent, which is dumb beause your only hurting yourself.
Unless you have a hacked version of bit torrent where you can download 1000 megs while only uploading like 10 :p
