Serers are fine. Did you change any settings, new firewall or anything?

ZoneVortex

Uhhhh this sucks then...why would it not work for me but work for other people?

edit: Changed nothing since I played 8 hours ago. :confused:

Not working on the other computer on my network either.

So it's gotta be something with the router, but I have not touched any settings since the last time I played fine, which was just 8 hours ago! Any......suggestions....I'm a n00b when it comes to this stuff :(

edit again: Thanatos if you want to change the thread title as to not cause panic since it seems more a problem of mine only feel free.

Sorry to be unspecific, I mean do you see that webpage when you start the launcher?

I'd suggest you soft-reset your router and see if it works then.

So your client says cannot connect to the login server or does your launcher so say? If the launcher says so, bypass it by starting up the client.exe.

I don't use the launcher nowadays. I just start NC by the client.exe.

I am impressed by your complete and unavoidable lack of anti-sarcasm here :D

Oh, yes I do. But when I hit 'play' I get ERROR: Could not connect to server.

Happens on the other comp on my network too.

Just went into my router settings and I have no idea what any of that stuff is...but...it.....doesn't look changed from the last time I saw it.

EDIT: When I boot it up from client.exe I still get "Can not connect to server."

Actually Wannabe is right.. turning off and on your PC / router / toaster, ... usually helps. :)

Who's your ISP?

ZoneVortex

Soft reboot of router and reboot of comp done, still not working.

My ISP is Comcast in the western USA

Hmm, try to ping or traceroute the IP address on your launcher. You sure it's the retail server IP and not the test server IP?

Check your neocron.ini;
Make sure this line is still there:

NETBASEIP = "62.140.29.54:7000"

You may use a differant port than 7000, tho...

Make sure your updater.ini looks like this:

SERVERIP=62.140.29.54
PORT=8040
PATCHPREFIX=patches\cp
EXE=Client.exe
GAMESERVERIP=62.140.29.54
HOMEURL=http://www.neocron.com/patcher/index.php

People have had those get corrupted before.....

ZONE>tracert 62.140.29.54

Tracing route to 62.140.29.54 over a maximum of 30 hops

1 <1 ms <1 ms <1 ms 192.168.0.1
2 9 ms 11 ms 7 ms 10.152.224.1
3 8 ms 7 ms 7 ms 12.244.98.33
4 8 ms 9 ms 9 ms 12.244.67.97
5 9 ms 10 ms 8 ms 12.244.67.93

Trace complete.

Edit: My updater and neocron.ini are still fine according to your post Spoon, thanks for the idea though

I don't know about them specifically but you could try another ISP just to isolate the problem.

and its probably some big cable for your isp that is down somewhere... you could call em and ask bout it...

I guess it's a dead router on your ISP's network.

Try another ISP? Like....sign up with a different internet service?

Also, can anyone like...decode that tracert for me cause i have no idea what it means

edit: Dead router on ISP's network?

Ahh I'm so confused. Is there something I can do to fix it? Or is it my ISP's problem with Neocron's servers?

Looks like Comcast's feed into AT&T's backbone in San Francisco was fucked at the time you did the trace.

[Edit]It looks better now, but still not "fixed" - seeing a lot of packet loss on the SanFran/Chicago/NY hops.

There may be a problem inside your ISP's network.

Try using a free dial-up service to test that it isn't your PC at fault.

If it works on the dial-up give your normal ISP a call and find out what they are playing at.

Ahh, I see. Cool thank you. Didn't see why it'd have been something on my side unless the other comp on the network got hacked while I was sleeping ;)

Damn you comcast...

edit: And I would go for a free dial up but I have no phone line in here and I don't know of any free dial ups left in the USA, they all charge now.

I think AOL were also having similar trouble a few days ago. It may be related, who knows?

/edit - Promethius found a free dial-up on google for his area so I'm sure it's possible. No phone however would make it a problem. How can you have broadband and no phone?

See if you can ping or traceroute 212.187.128.154 (London)

and 212.187.128.70 (Hamburg)

and 64.159.0.238 (New York)

btw, I could ping all the IP's in your tracert, except for the first two(probably behind your firewall)......
