I think they should make a rare weapon for hackers, a hacker machina glove. This should give +15 to hack (or whatever it is the other gloves give you).
Please post suggestions and vote
Hacking in a trade skill. Just like all the others. I don't know why it didn't get a glove.
Yup i agree:) needs addressing just like the citycom needed in the TG clan apt..:D

Just a question - is it possible there is gonna be a rare hack thing like that for the FA Epic when it comes out possibly?
I thought there already was one... guess I should pay more attention to the patch notes in future. :)

Well I aggre somehting should be added to be fair, is it really necessary? 100 hack skill base is more then enough to hack anything in the game (with a spy 3 for high SL belts)
A hack glove would be uber Im still not sure why it wasn't put in.
yes, while your at it, merge the INT based gloves together and the DEX based ones.
the rare pool is already fucked, never mind these new tank rares.
a barter machina glove too while were on the topic of gloves.
Bartering is a tradeskill too :P

Bartering is a tradeskill too :P Except for the fact that I dont really know how a glove would make you a better barterer. With the other tradeskills they are hand based. Although maybe thats why hack wasn't made into a glove, though I could totally see a specialized glove helping a person hack.
Spy PA should give like +5-10 in hack IMHO

Of all the classes, Spies tend to use hack the most. Historically and in game. Besides that, they need every boost they can get. Sure not all of them use hack, but at least some of them would be happy.

citycom is run by an intranet run by tangent in the city. no one outside neocron (possibly bar the outposts via sattelite uplink) should really be able to get on the system, eg the TG caves.
also while we are at it, how did the copbots sneak into the TG apps? come on, its such a simple fucking thing GM/programmers. deleteing one line of code, or making a short new one for specific tg or FA apps is all it would take.

sounds better than one more glove :)
IF there was such a glove.... it should need requirement HACK 100. so it would be a real HACKERs tool and not one for lazy ppl.
everything else is BS like the other gloves ingame now.

Yep, 100 hacking should be a requirement.
And in order not to increase the huge rarepool even more the hacking parts could/should (:D) randomly spawn in boxes you'd need hacking to (not too ofen so ppl can't do boxcamping :D). Only an idea ;)

more like a hacker dungeon .....an advanced Mainsewer...
and in the end u need to hack a mainframe to get access to a special tech part.

has there been any talk of introduing a system that lets u see if u are taking damage while hacking? its seems so stupid at the moment that just casue u are looking at ur fancy wristwatch u cant tell u are getting splattered all over the place, its not like you're zoning in aka nuromancer

I would have to say no to this because there is not enough need for a super high Hacking skill. It will just be used by the majority to lower their need for points in Hacking.

And instead of a DEX boost it boosted INT, as that benefits to hack.
But even so i am still against the idea,.
personally i would like something else besides a glove, i mean imagine you are hacking a belt in an anarchy zone, you finally complete the hack and back into the real (third person) world. But wait suddenly you get shot by a tank onoz you have no resists, u die and lose the glove along with the prize hidden within the belt.

:) thats what the min requirement is for. if u need it to reach the min point this one is not for you. if u use it to be better them the rest then you only use it in case where time is money.

I agree with the post relating to a rare hack tool rather than a glove and yes the requirements should be quite high. Too many people can Wb's and doors already ( I think the hacking requirements on Wb's and some doors should be higher) and all that a specialised hacker has left is QB's and OP's.....
Maybe a hacktool that has either a high INT level or high hack level that gives +15 hack and some temporary stealth or something while the hack is taking place?? What about the ability to close the hack screen before 30 seconds are up, saves waiting when you have hacked the item (and would help against the problem below)
Many times I try and hack something and someone just kills you (mob or player) as you have no idea that you are being attacked. Only when the hack is sucessfull/unsucessfull do you know that you have been killed while hacking........

completely off topic but someone said something about comps in TG clan appt adn it reminded me of this.
Why is it that in TG appts you cannot pull out a weapon and you hear "drop that weapon" from a copbot that isn't there?
yet in NC you can pull out ur weapons at will.
IMHO it should be reversed but i would prefer u can pull weapons out in any appt.
Rade hacking of OPs would be funny. afterall if said hacker is using the glove they'll have there resists in the negative. so will become easy kills.

Hacking might not need as many points as some of the other skills, but wearing that glove out in the open is a liability and would make me nervous as hell. If some one got the jump on me Id had to take it off before I could fight (and might even have to try and get my psi glove on).

Rare glove/hacking tool req: 100 hack & 80 INT (or higher?)
The idea of hacking your way to a mainframe that someone mentioned was great too.
Major things that would have to be implemented are:
- no guards (only hacker progresses deeper into building/maze
- multiple entrances (no need to have clans camping it like MC5)
Is there any point to having over 100 hack? (as far as activation nodes go)
7 is the max, right?
Make harder things to hack and give an extra node at 130 or 140 hack...

Make harder things to hack and give an extra node at 130 or 140 hack... Well the nodes stop at 100 but the layout of the hack changes with skill. With more hack skill comes an ease of hacking. Many hack jobs are impossible even with 7 nodes.
But coming from a hacker I'd DEFINITELY love to see an increase use for hacking like the ones mentioned.
your also forgetting that in the future hacknet might be in game. so will need a higher skill level i guess.

Good idea on the hack glove. It means PSI/Hacking will have to swap out (making people easier target in hack screen if monkey). Or prehaps lock it to a class?
However I think they should have even higher skill capped items in the game so we don't end up with a large amount of mediocore skills people.
I thought they had one, but if they don't, they should.

So when hacknet comes out make a glove a req to get into it. And give the glove a high req to use.
