Is that true? Do you have to pay to play it? How does it all work?
Is it any good?

Yes - there will be a PC version.
It's a single player game (I think) like Baldur's Gate (made by same people) but with uber graphics.
Looks pretty damn good.

No online play, just pay the $50 at the store and play. I beat the game on the Dark Side on the Xbox version, combat is not real time, but very good imo for an RPG.

An awesome RPG and one of the best Star Wars games ever. Great story, presentation, graphics, voice overs, hidden stuff, so many things to do (choose between the Light and Dark Side), etc.
I'd highly suggest picking it up.
Guess I gotta bug my brotha
I'll probably play on the dark side first cause its more fun :p
When i was playing jedi academy, i was having so much more fun with the grip, lighting.
Gripping people over the edges is fun :D
As to it not being real time combat.... awww... that kinda sucks. Oh well.

Way more fun, and you get way cooler Force powers.

Believe me, I thought the same thing but the combat really is great.
What are the force powers you can use?
Dont need to list em all if you dont wanna spoil it for meh.
Grip still ownz, even in multiplayer of jedi academy, its fun to grip other players and toss them over the edge.
Just so much fun with grip Course it was only fun for so long in single player, not its fun to do it to embarass other players in multiplayer.

Scroll down to section 9 and there's a list with explanations.
Link doesnt work, but i know where to look at least.
Hm, works for me? But yeah, just go to GameFAQ's and go to the Xbox FAQ. Xbox version is pretty much the same.

The link works, but you're not allowed to direct link... just copy and paste the link into a browser...
I need to get me this game :)
RA.
i have it on xbox, its a really good game. combat is turn based kid of like FF games. but is very fast flowing and you can set how you want to play it, you can have it pause after every round of combat or just do stuff on the fly.
well worth playing. its fairly linear (which i think is part of all good rpg's except maybe morrowind) BUT theres lots of side quests and mini games to take part in if you want to spend the time. however if like me you just want to plough on and shoot people you can do that as well
pc version= new races, locations and items, gotta love pcs :)

I have it on the Xbox,
good game to an extent but the combat is pretty boring. Not much skill involved. just move to avoid the enemy shots then wait to take yours, repeat till fade.
Still, looks gorgeous and any SW fan will love the atmos of this one. Enjoy :D

nope
BIOWARE confirmed on their forums - that was a false rumour
PC = XBOX in every way bar interface...
That said XBOX version was probably the finest SW game I've played (Jedi Academy included)... fantastic force and light-saber powers...
The only tip I'd give any new player is DONT level up your char till you've left Taris... otherwise you'll be miffed :)

Because there is a level cap. Your character can only have 20 levels in total, and you can only become a Jedi after leaving Taris.
So, if you use up your precious levels before you become a Jedi, you will have fewer "Jedi levels" remaining. I hope that makes sense. If you level up on Taris you will have far fewer Force points/powers at endgame, and believe me, you WILL want some of those high level Jedi Powers.
if its anything like the halo conversion it will be rough as hell
