Official Neocron Gathering - SUKING - February 21 & 22, Southend-on-Sea, Essex

ok peeps... i am good friend of an owner of a 35 computer internet cafe in Essex - UK and he has agreed to hold an official neocron gathering.

I have been talking to Danae about this and she thinks this is a very good idea and supports this 100%. the owner is Inject13 (Uranus). i know alot of uranus peeps have agreed to come down if inject confirms a date etc - this could be it

We are debating whether to make this a day or a weekend thing and Danae sugested making a poll here to see what people think

Dates are to be confirmed - although it will be sometime in the first few months next year.

We are thining either

A Saturday: go to a pub during the day, drink, get to know each other etc ; then back to the internet cafe agter (stopping off at an officence) and staying the night - gaming / drinking / pool

A weekend: same as above, but with all day sunday (til 11pm at the latest) gaming / possibly another pub trip.

the Saturday would be £20 per person (including a large area to crash in) or the weekend would be £35 (same but with another 12 hours gaming / drinking thrown in)

this money would cover the gaming / place to crash. food / drink would be extra. there is a pub (alternative pub) to go when we want 5 mins walk from the cafe, its on the highstreet s it has all takeaway / macdonalds etc's there. also the cafe sells some food and soda's etc

it is located in southend (www.wireworld.co.uk - click 'Centres' for info [its the SOUTHEND ON SEA store])

Maloch, being the ever enthusiastic sportsman, has picked up the gauntlet and is now in preperation to see Jester go under the table.

The Rules:

1: One Referee, no outside assistance with buying drinks, or disposing of drinks
2: Toilet breaks are not allowed
3: No form of solid food may be digested, liquids only
4: If you are so pissed you cannot get served, you lose by default
5: Upper limit of £100 each on bar, first person to drink to £100, wins by default
6: Vomiting will result in disqualification
7: Shots or pints, Drinkers Choice. Play your tactics carefully here.
8: There is no time limit
9: Extra points on style for scoring with a woman during the contest
10: Being rushed to hospital for stomach pump merits disqualification

well... i will have to save my pay for ages... as my payday is the 26th - the week after the gathering :p

as for payment... i will have to discuss this with the cafe owner and Danae ASAP - i think payment up front would be a good idea but would have to go about arranging it

The biggest issue in the DC, is most people win because the other guy nearly died of a hernia from being unable to go to the toilet.

Thus, if you can handle it, shots are better, as it doesn't fill you up.

My prime was when I ran OFPEC, and I met with one of the English lads that worked on the site. He came up to Glasgow, I took him to the Solid Rock Cafe, I sat him down, and in one and a half hours, we had consumed £85 worth of shots, which was enough to have him spewing constantly as we tried to stagger back home.

Oh yeah, those were good days.

He woke up in his hotel the next morning, lying face down in a pile of vomit, in the hotel room shower. Arf.

So if you're going for pints, you will lose. :D

oh and to be technical for a sec - its a LAN + online gaming center not a net cafe - they have games installed. NC is on all and fully patched. CS is on all. TFC is on all. C&C generals is on some. The Specialist (my fav non-NC game) is on 90% if not all. Warcraft 3 is on most. UT 2003 is on some. Q3 is prolly on some still. DAoC is on alot. even SW:G on some (unfortunatly - the owner is an NC player and doesnt like it though :p)

i am pretty good at CS - nothing special though

on a GOOD day i can beat anyone - on a normal one i am mid table.

there are alot of good CS players in southend though... including an 8 year old who can beat the entire center O_o


thats sooo worrying O_o still... when he grows up he will be winning world leagues etc i garentee it! he just needs to improve his teamwork - at the mo he is like Rambo :p

i think its obvious from the vote it will be a weekend long meeting.

the way i see it is as follows:

Saturday 21st-

11am all meet in southend (Wireworld)

1pm we are all here by now, we go down to the pub for a drink or two

8pm(or something) we stagger to an offlicense and grab booze, then head up to wireworld (10 min walk)

we drink / smoke / game / chat til morning (maybe sleep too?)

then pretty much the same sunday... maybe a bit more gaming though

Sunday 22nd-

11pm we all go away (and wireworld shuts)

The way I would like to see it span is thus:

Friday people, we hit the pub, and booze ourselves silly until chucking out time, then hit a good rock club, if there is one.

If there is no rock club, we grab an offie before it shuts, and wheel ourselves to the cafe and knock ourselves out with booze.

Saturday night, Jest and I should go at it with the Drinking Competition, and Sunday, more booze.

I'll be looking at bringing my tartan gear down for Danae, so if any other Scot wants to join me with their kilt, spiffy. :P
