If u like BF.. I suggest taking a look at the Mod - Forgotten Hope.

It adds a lot of realism and adds more-
vehicles/maps/weapons/classes

You get to check out the new patch yet? Loads of new toys to play with. Engineer now got a Garand rifle, torpedo boat (when sunk you get a mini inflatable boat :D ) etc..

I still have v1.45, I'm on a 56k which disconnects every 2 hours so I can't even leave most things to download automatically, I get BB soon though so I'll probably have v1.5 by then.

I got bf1942 yesterday, and only played it for about 45 mins lastnight, and sofar seems like the perfect game 8| just what ive been looking for...

Havent updated it yet or tried it online but ill be trying that out asap this weekend :)

I still play it as Sir. Hippieman Weed. Im usually on the Desert Combat, Forgotten Hope and once in a while Desert Combat Xtended. Possibly may play vanilla BF 1942 once in a while.

Oh and who are those that can that damn shaky ass F14B? I can but its hard as hell ESPECIALLY in a dogfight.

The only thing I don't like about it (besides the complete inability to shoot anyone with a rifle on a 56k) is the "only realistic when it suits us" attitude the devs have. Some things are understandable, like the large supply of bombs, others are stupid, such as the way shells fall far too much, the Tiger is a less stable firing platform than the Sherman (o_O), and the guns on the BBs, DDs and stationary turrets have nothing but a crosshair to aim with. The movement feels really strange too in CQB, plus there's a distint lack of feedback on whether you hit anyone or not (no blood), though my biggest gripe is when someone is catapulted into the air by an explosion and parachutes back down avoiding death.

Besides those issues I still like the game, and the only thing stopping me from playing much atm is the combination of being unable to get 1.5 and there being no good 1.45 servers.

Just check the crosshair when you fire. If it changes slightly you got a hit most likely.

Yeah I know there's a little crosshair thing but I don't know if I hit him or killed him with that, in other games if I see someone fall over in a splash of blood he's dead, whereas if I see blood, then he falls over, he's usually just going prone. :)

Scikar if getting the patch on 56k is all thats your problem. maybe i could grab the patch then rar it into smaller chunks. then place it on my ftp server. upto you. oh i don't play bf1942 at all.

It's alright, I'll have BB in a few days so I'll just get the patch then. I can't really play very well on 56k atm anyway, and I'd rather play Neocron than download patches. :D
