look's like it's a copy of Neocron and window's has tryed to make it valid by changing the file name's to xxx(2) to show it's a copy, though this would probably screw it over when the game try's to find file's as it'd be looking for the folder without the (2) but would not find it in the neocron(2) folder...

If all else fails....reformat and don't install so much crap on your comp :D Like every form of the spyware kazaA .....

I've never had to reinstall Neocron because of problem's with it... though I've had to reinstall because of mind fart's like installing TS patches to both TS and Retail install's of neocron (doh)..

Search for anything neocron in the registry (...only do this if you know what you're doin...reg editing is harmful to your comp), and remove.

beats having to reformat a box every 2 weeks, microshitbox has its issues but damn, format c that much?

Norton Ghost or PowerQuest Drive Image are the best.

Reinstalling a image in 30 mins beats a 3-4 reformat/reinstall

Mey hem. Right click on yur NEocon shortcut. Click properties. Where it says target. Make sure it looks something like this.


"C:\Program Files\Neocron\NeocronLauncher.exe"

It looks to me more like your HD is screwed that anything else. I've had something like this years ago. Directorys going all funny. What disk format do you use? FAT32? NTFS? If there's something wrong with your HD, all the reinstalls won't help - it'll just keep going wrong.

I don't think you said, but have you tried running a scandisk type prog? Don't just do a normal scan, but do a full surface scan. Sure, it takes longer than LOMs but it's probably worth doing that. Alternatively repartition / reformat your HD completely.
