Brainport: NC Card Game

After giving it loads of thought, I think the next big thing NC needs is a card game. It's really hard to find new things in NC lately. Hunting WBs for rares, killing BD guards for loads of exp, but what about making a NC card game? Now don't go bljuh all over the idea, I'm not talking pokemon cards, I'm talking grims, sewer rats, poison plants, buff cards etc. One of the best, imho, card games could be FF, it's very simple, loads of cards, good tactics. KK did a good job for making their own improved version of the hacking game, actual or slight version of FF card game would be really great. It's just something you can do with your clan mates and something to brag about with the npcs.

Now there are few by quantity but huge by quality problems. Will KK wan't to spend time on making icons for 100s of cards? They can't even get someone to wast 1 h of their time to make a different icon for stealth tool rather than making card images.

How will the community accept it? Theyd rather have KK work on new cars, even though they only drive a chaincraft cause they don't want to waste skills on VHC.

How will the cards be gained? It's possible that you could gain those cards thru killing monsters or taking 3 random cards from someones deck after youve beaten them. If you think it's idiotic to gain a card for killing a cyclops, then think about why you as CA get cash for killing a grim reaper way across the whole wasteland. The chance for gaining a card wouldn't be really high, perhaps the same as you could get for getting a rare drop from a high levlel mob.

In any case I'm not saying KK should do this now, I'm saying in the next months [please, without years]. Moreon, I hope they do something like this even though, optimisticly, chances are small.

The cards with stats on and you choose which card to beat someones choice of card etc?

How would we store the cards? Cab space is limited as it is!
(I still want to see such a feature though)

How about inbuilt card & board games?
(A bit like the games in UO etc)
Call the clan round for a game of poker ;)

heh .. a neocron based card game would be great . . though they might add a subskill req just so you can play it :lol:
slot machines . .poker .. blackjack .. .. in a casino would be awesome also .. ..
How about also a special gambling challenge done in neofrag . . . Like Survial where you are put into an arena of some sort .. and a mob is spawned .. beat it . .you can either take t he reward or continue on for more rewards .. . till you get to the hardest mob . . you can only use the items that are spawned on you . . nothing you bring in . . . . . and maybe a true duel setting where everyone can be set to a specific rank so it evens it all out ;)
But anyhow the reward for the Survial in neofrag could be a card and every now and it can be a rare time you might get a special card

as far as storage . .. it would have to be a special DECK item that would house all the cards you collect . .you just drop it onto the DECK and it's stored ... but choose carefully cause maybe once stored it can't be pulled from the deck. Of course the DECK would have a size limit.

Well Anything to pass the time besides the same ol' same ol' And then we could really have tournaments with your rankings put up somewhere you can check .. like in the city com you can find the top ranking NeoCard Masters

Hm, yes i like it, but have the mobs have special resists, as in, a grim persecutor does 3 x 40 fire damage, and has... 50% resist in everything, while a warbot does 2 x 25 eng and 2 x 20 xray, but is slightly weaker to fire, completely resistant to poison etc.

just my ramblings ;), too lazy to post up a proper idea.

Perhaps, a special item which would be used as a deck. There should be a minimum/maximum number of cards you can have in your deck. There should also be something like a trunk, where you can store the cards you don't need. This item should cost a lot imo :). Or you can always add another RPOS tab for the cards. The RPOS would be a better idea imo, though being able to loose some cards when you get killed isn't bad also. But that would make people just leave their decks in gogo when they go out. Also, right clicking on someone you should have the ability to challenge someone, with him having the chance to accept or not.

Maybe a Knights Of The Old Republic kind of idea. I enjoyed that one and it was easy to learn.

I belive "Pazaak" was the name of the card game, and was similar to Blackjack in some ways (in that you had to be the closest to 20 without going bust) with a slight difference that you also had a side deck that you could draw from to alter your round score (both + and - cards to raise or lower your score closer to 20)
