how good is NC on this connection? was wondering moved to a new apt at have no connection just thinking of gettin 56k and not dsl.

Neocron works just fine for most people on 56k connections. I think OP wars are the only places where it might get slow.

From the reports I've seen through the forums, it's pretty much the same, except for a few (noticable) 'speed' bumps. :D

NC is designed as such to be usable exceptionally well even with sub-par computers and modems.

The downside is, the game is as state-of-the-art as Quake 1&2 are. :D

Of course, this doesn't take away from the uberness that is Neocron.

Just to give you an example of just how good NC is on a 56K link...

My wife and I both play NC together. In the UK we had a broadband cable link to the internet and the game was fine apart from the usual server lags.

We've now moved to Australia and both still play NC togther on a shared 56K link. Yes there are lag spikes and slow downs, but the usually affect others at the same time, so seem to be server side. I certainly do not notice a difference when she logs on.
