Bumped into Martin J Schweizer the other week and asked him a few questions. Unfortunately he didn't have the time to answer, but promised that he would fit me into his schedule. So today, Martin gave me a call and asked if I fancied a pint on his dinner hour (yes he is allowed one). Below is a brief account of our discussion taken from my mini-corder:

]v[: So Martin, i'm not gonna pull any punches today. As you know, the community has some burning questions for you to answer.
MJS: Sure, go ahead.
]v[: Firstly DOY, are we nearing completion? Can the community expect a quality package when its ready to go?
MJS: DOY is very nearly ready. I can't go into any real detail but the new additions and gameplay changes should see the return of the cutting edge FPS/MMORPG Neocron once was. Its really been about securing a publisher for months now. I've played the code myself and i'm proud of our acheivements at Reakktor.
]v[: On that note, how close are we to securing a publisher?
MJS: On the publishing front, we've not found anything that comes close to the deal we envisaged for DOY. I have a meeting with Penguin next week and I'm still optimistic.
]v[: A fair amount of the community have expressed their concern over the rumour that KK are currently employing only one coder. Firstly can you confirm this, and if it's true, explain the reasoning behind it?
MJS: You certainly aren't pulling any punches today... erm. Yes it is true that we only employ one coder. The reasons... well if you look at the initial buy-rate for Neocron of the shelf and the amount of revenue generated by our subscribers which is a little over 2000 people at this point, well I'll let you do the Math.
]v[: So KK are looking for DOY to bring in the extra revenue needed for further expansion and possibly to secure the future of Neocron?
MJS: Without question.

]v[: One last thing before you go Martin... Do KK have any plans for the PPU sub-class and in particular the much debated effects of Parashock?
MJS: Speaking as a PPU myself... Nah!

worst beer i've tasted so far.
even worse than 'paderborner'.
when i was in the uk i drank 3 different brands:
stella, kronenbourg and fosters.
kronenbourg was definately best, foster pretty good and cheap, too. but stella .... ugh :/

Nice Mortice, this is a very cool thread and has given me good hopes for neocron :P
To martin.J.S : I cant wait till we can play with that new code :angel: , i hope neocron gets a bit more known around the world, certainly if the dome of york comes out and i know for sure all members of this forum here try to help out as much as possible in advertising there favorite game. It all sounds very promising to me and even better, the more souls the more gamingpleasure. All i can say is 2 thumbs up and continue the good work :P
and i am veery happy that you are a ppu so you understand all the ppu's here :P
edit: and for me the thread is a 100% real, i know fo sure he is a PPU, he must be :P so fake or not i believe these positive words
I was getting suspicious around the "2000 customers" part. Well,
was fun in a weird kind of way I guess.

Yeah I heard in Belgium the locals think stella is pisswater.
Still the number 1 selling draught beverage in UK tho. Beats Guinness by the width of a gnats wotsit :).

Anywayz... MJS is a top bloke.
He normally has a little giggle at humour directed at him... or humour that he is the topic of. Or at least he used to when he used to frequent these parts :)

Should we compile some more questions for me to ask MJ (nothing serious now) just for fun.
My next question is gonna be... "Would you starve for 44 days in a glass box to give Neo some advertisement?"

I hate to bring you guys down but penguins are just animals; they don't sell anything nor do they even speak. I'm sorry... I know some were just too optimistic and now I probably made you cry. And MJS, don't get mad if those penguins wont answer your questions. You've just being too desperate here... we know you have tried to get many publishers for DoY but I didn't surely expect you to be this desperate. Just a hint; I would rather try talking to chimps since they seem to be a bit intelligent than penguins :p
