Bah, this World Series is going to blow. Cubs vs Sox would've ruled.
IMO Cubs vs. Yanks would have been great.
Look for a 4-0 sweep now with the Marlins. :rolleyes::D
Actually, I figure the Marlins will win this one, or at least bring the series out to 7 games. As much as I hate them for beating the Cubs, there's no denying that this team is kicking ass and taking names.
Ehhhh....wtf? Last two times I saw the TV screen it was 7th inning... 3-1 in favor of the sox..then 4-2...then I turned the damn thing off. And now the yanks won?
And people said they lost their talent these days. Pfft. :o
Actually though, I would have liked to see how the Yankees would have reacted to not winning the world series for once. :rolleyes: Because I am that kind of unbiased 'What if' person.
Edit: Yeah, it's been awhile since the marlins did any good in the playoffs...also, I guess the curse of the Sox hit the reds this time very hard. :D Neither the Red or the White sox won any world series since like 100 years ago...pretty sad :eek:

They tied it up and then it went to the 11th inning and Aaron Boone hit a homer at the first pitch and won the game. :D

They lost in 2001 against the Diamondbacks and then the Angels..so they've lost in the playoffs before.

Bleh, I don't call myself a baseball buff...hell, I don't even watch sports (or TV for that matter :eek: ) so I was expecting to be wrong at least SOMEWHERE in my post...thanks, Vid. :)

Boston Redsox lost because the retards let pedro martinez
continue to pitch in the 6th and 7th inning even though he threw
over 120 pitches and started to get weak.
If they put Timlin in the 6th the game would have been easily
won by the sox, they had the 4-0 lead. They figured a lead would
be "safe" to keep Pedro in pitching just because he thought he
could continue to pitch well, which he did for the first 6 innings.
Pedro should have been out when yanks got their first run off
that first homer.
Oh well, partied with friends at pub, got drunk.. enjoyed the long
game with the "edge of the seat" overtime innings. Maybe next
time they will be smarter then to rely on pedro to win the world
series for them (defensively anyway).
Hope the Florida Marlins kick their ass in the world series just
because the yanks already have 28 world series won, they need
not another. Cubs vs Sox would have been a clash of the curses,
the ultimate finaly of anything being possible in the game of
baseball. Which is what it's all about in the first place.
They had a good year and got further than anyone expected,
so did the cubs. Losers maybe but their effort was outstanding.

of people from other countries of the world to begin with..
If you want to participate in "real baseball" you move to the real
country to play it amongst others in the divisions.

Bah damn baseball is so screwed up, this is the exact reason why I stopped watching it. Same damn teams constantly. At least the NFL fixed its crap....too bad I dont like football either. But at least its a different team that goes in NFL.

If they would fix the league then Sox might be able to go. Pull some of the money out of Yankees and give the other people equal opportunity. Its like a capped APU fighting a 15/30 SPI they dont have the chance because they dont hvae the equipment. They need to fix the league, then the game might become more interesting to follow. As it is right now, no changes, I can expect the same damn teams to get into either A. the playoffs or B. the World Series. Because players go where the money is, and teams like Yankees go and buy the world series. That is pretty much the extent of it.

If Britain had a Cricket playoff, chances are the winners would be the world champions.
As of now Canada has teams in major league baseball, and I imagine other adjacent countries would too if they were interested and/or had social or monetary interest vested in the sport. I don't think the majority of medium/small nations have active national sports programs other than olympic teams. There are a lot of great sports out there that are not internationally acknowledged on a daily basis. To me baseball is one of them. I dont know the first thing about Polo, for example, but it looks cool too...

So the "world" can see the best baseball teams in america compete
in a series of games between two divisions.
That's why. You are all confused by the term and just don't get
it I guess. There is a Baseball world cup where a USA team plays
others teams from japan, italy, france, nigaria, etc but I don't have
the details for it. This particular "world series" is very americanized
for us, we don't want to see other countries play the american
sport in Major League Baseball. It's for the american citizens. Now
I can imagine a japanese player arguing to the umpire about a
pitch and then the american coach going to talk as well... hope
he understands english and jap... :lol:
MLB = Americans, World Cup Baseball = International. Now can
you all just shut it just because you don't see your country playing
in this "world series", go watch soccer or wait for world cup baseball.

US and Canada are the only countires in the world that have major lauge calibar teams. When the UK gets a good baseball team we will considering letting u in.
