Meh.

does the "-200" go towards ur armor? or resists?

We were told armor.
I believe it's both, however.

ehh...if that's the case, I know resist-wise it can't go below 0, but can the armor go below 0?

I think u r screwed if you actually use these and plan to get hit....

I agree w/ QD, they have to hit both armor and resists.

They hit your "total" resist.

So you can't have 0 in one and 20329382893 in the other and get away with it. :D

Hm..

Since resist is basically armor addition, and the total resist is the armor and the resist, are both being taken away from on average, like from 70 & 70 to 50 & 50, or is one drained more than the other, like from 70 & 70 to 70 & 30 or even 60 & 40?

Also, as for my earlier question, I know resist from skill can't go below 0, but what about armor? can it go below 0?

These chips are great for the mid-level/high players who want to quickly level. The added bonuses make you use higher gun quicker and more efficiently.

For PvP they are horrendous. Take the DoY Killing Spree Kamikaze Chip:

Stats: +40 M-C, +40 H-C, +30 WPL, +15 T-C, +15 ATL

+40 M-C : Who really gives a fuck, no one uses melee anyway. Again, good to level with to use those melee rares to rip through tough mobs.

+40 H-C: Awesome for leveling Tanks, but when you're capped ready for PvP, having an extra 40 doesn't really matter, you cap your damage and most of your other stats fine with the right setup and PA3/4.

+30 WPL: Can't debate on this, this rocks. Anyone could use an extra 30 WEP, even capped players.

+15 T-C: Again, good for leveling players, no use for capped players. You could put more points into AGL with this, but really, is having 112 AGL that worse then say having 122 AGL?

+15 ATL: Aside from WEP, the only other thing for capped players. A good way to bounce back from the PA -ATL.

The downsides wouldn't bother anyone doing PvM, but for PvP they are suicide:

-15 INT, -200 pierce, -100 energy

-15 INT: Not bad, but Tanks have 20 INT, with this you will have 5, making your WEP be less effective. Doable though.

-200 Pierce: If I knew a Tank had a Kami in, I would whip out my Tangent Speed Cannon and kill him in one round. Are they nuts!?

-100 Energy: This is the doozy. You just can't afford -100 Energy. Have fun being ripped apart with CS's and APU's.

This can probably be applied to every Kami chip, I just did the Tank one because I am a Tank. ;)

Well there's one little point we haven't taken into consideration yet:
It's an imp
Yes this tells it all to many
Think of it
All imps, heart, backbone, eye and head give SKILL boosts in resists
While BONES on the other hand give armor boost
So this gives us
When also thinking about KK's nullified need of changing code
That that resist killer have to be SKILL.
Simple enough

Vid, there's two things you haven't considered also...

1.) Melee is not as bad as you may think...
2.) You will never know if a tank or any other class has that kami chip in. Your only guess would be if it whips out a high-end melee weapon.

And I'm aware these points may seem obvious, but... well. Depends on who's got the skills or not.

I thought the PSI Kami only gave -15 INT

When I had mine in it pushed me just below the low belts and my int wasnt that high as my PSI was 61 at the time

why does the PSI kami chip get -100 pierce. don't monks have SFA in that already. so aren't loseing anything. :D
also the kami chips look fine. if all your gonna hunt if fire mobs.

only problem with the kami chips is getting hold of the correct one for your class.

For PvM melee is actually quite good. I'm talking about PvP, where before you even get a chance to swing you're parashocked being blasted by CS's and HL's everywhere.

2.) You will never know if a tank or any other class has that kami chip in. Your only guess would be if it whips out a high-end melee weapon.

You can tell by looking at a Tank's second rank. A capped Tank with a Kami in would have a rank of about 70+, whereas it would be 68/69 without it.

I didn't think I'd be countered in that way, but..still...yeah.

Hey, Vid, ever heard the story where some melee tanks ripped up a PPU in seconds? =x Probably haven't.

Also, I did say my points would be obvious, but I suppose what I meant to say was, people can go around what you've presented if they can find ways around it...which is entirely possible.

i know this might change things in the tank class, but would u all like to see how good melee actually is for PvP? :)

well, i guess if u got 20329382893 in one resist stat, a minus of 100 or 200 wont matter much :p

Its negative armor, however, since resists are converted and
factored into armor in reality they hit both armor and resist.
Armor however will not go into negatives, it will just remain at
zero.

should kami chips also + to your main skill?

i think they should, by about 5 or 7.

1: you can cap melee easy without a kami
2: yeh i should be afraid of somebody that dies in one or two bursts.
