I just got Fire Warrior for the PC, now there's a great PS2 game, but the PC port is just that, everything, all the model's and grafic's are stuck down to PS2 range..

It's a bad resource hog, basic menu's and somtime's weak AI can drive you insane and in several place's and level's you must do X before you can move past certain point's or, dun dun daaaa, you die..

Waaay to short, weak story and AI scripting for said story (your our ally, but we're gonna shoot you anyway).. all sort's of niggle's.. Fun while it last's, but don't last long enough, Halo bassed combat, right down to the shield's and max carrying...

So I advise anyone thinking of buying this game, don't, it's just like most of the Warhammer based game's, good idea, poor exection.. PS2 version is good for the PS2 I'd recomend it for owner's who want a halo type FPS..

Thanks for the warning. I was actually thinking of trying this one out. I guess ill just rent it for the PS2.

GW should really stick to what they do best...actually they do very little of anything, but the table top game is okay even though i could be 100x better then it is.

I hear they are making a Warcraft Online game. That should be a real good laugh.

AFAIK Blizzard's only known for one thing:
Quality
Name one game that really sucked horribly
And to add up on that all other companies goes MMO now so
why not a company like Blizzard that are good at what they do
And know when to get of the damn train if it's going into a brickwall
IMHO WoW (World of Warcraft) could be the biggest star in the skies
of MMO ever..
Or Blizzard's gotta fail once atleast.

My first game of Diablo online.

Eventually log onto battle.net where people are more intrested seXor'ing each other and swapping porn then playing the game.

I create a game in the hopes someone else joins.

After five minutes, someone comes in and kills me (in the safe zone). I try again and this time someone logs in, loots me blind, erases all my stats all from the safe zone, then kills me from the safe zone and logs out.

Granted Diablo II was marginally better, but Battle.Net had enough going for it to keep me from playing the game again.

Warcraft Online ...

from a technical side of view, I'm almost sure it will define the state of the art. But I fear .. I fear ...

I fear that WO will attract too many Diablo-II purists who all just want an enhanced version of Diablo and give a damn about roleplaying aspects and such. So ... I'm skeptical.

Anything manufactured by games workshop wholly or partly has class, style and quality, fire warrior is no different, i agree that the pc evrsion shouyld be far more detailed, and tbh it could have been coded far better, it does shaft your system a lot (no downloading your 3.9Gbs of pr0n while listening to you brand new unreleased tracks from *insert band here* then RAWR)

Fire warrior COULD have been a good game, instead its now mediocre, but for the lovew of me, i love it GO GW!!!!!!111111111111111neonoenoenneoe.

Oh yeah,

DEATH TO THE FALSE EMPEROR!!!!!!!!
DEACAY IN THE DIRT!!!!!!!!

/edit, it also helps to know, that you allies (i assume space marines) are xenophobic and genocidal. RAWR, DTA.

Kinda like the Counter-Strike to Neo issue then?

Well we'll see in time,
if nothing else I belive Blizzard got some dirty tricks too
to fend of those who try to ruin their li'l golden goose.

Aye, exactly that issue. Hope you're right though, would be a pity if these people'd destroy such a promising game. :(

He didn't mean Warcraft online or whatever it's called..

Warhammer online is the MMO based on warhammer, a GW tabletop game, also a RPG but most people forget it's root's..

Bliz faced a law suit for Starcraft because some of the human's looked like Space marines, they won, but that just left the door open for GW to make the tyranid's look like zerg's...

Warhammer online might be a good game, since it's a pure PC devlopment, though chance's are it'll fall by the wayside because so many MMO's are based on fantasy, even if it's a cut darker than most, it's lost the edge it had..

i think people are gettign confused with Warhammer online and world of warcaft.

both games are completely different and made by completely different companies

That's what I just said...

Point is, they are very similar in design as bliz got idea's from WH, and GW improved some of their idea's by doing the same back..

WoW I dunno, might be fun if there's enough to do, without getting too uber right away..

WHOL should be interesting to play, simply because it's not a nice world.. No happy fairy's there..

Oops, /me confusing things. Sorry. My arguments about World of Warcraft are still valid, though. :p

nice Diskworld refrence in your local... Fell off the edge..

back to topic.. Fire Warrior a good PS2 game, the halo beater PS2's been looking for, but it's nothing special..

WHOL might be nice to play, try and get into a big warrior company and smash some 'ard stuff early.. maybe not..

Err yeah why are we discussing WoW when WO is the topic? *BAH*
Anyways, yes, firewarrior is incredibly BAD for you on PC since it
well basicly
SUCKS

Because the percentage of threads that stay on-topic is .. well ... close to non-existent ? btw .. the topic was Fire Warrior, afaik.

that's why everyone was talking about WORLD OF WARCRAFT. they didn't get the two mixed up. off topic, i think WoW looks like a pretty damn descent game myself. i will probably end up signing up for the beta.

Warhammer Online (WO) will rock

I was at a seminar at this years games day (UK) and its coming on really well.

I predict however the PvP system will come under alot of fire during beta (which is supposed to start before the year is out)

WoW will be the next MMORPG for me I think. I've been thinking about that for over a year :) But one that is for sure -> D&D MMORPG that will be (hopefully) released in 2005. That's what I'm waiting for

WHOL might end up somthing like Neocron in term's of player base, depend's how much it get's pushed and if they hock it in GW store's, if they do then it might see a lot of kiddy's, which is a bad thing..

Though it might see some of the WH RPG player's, all the mature playing coming back.. dunno..

WoW will be fully tested in a closed beta, then when it's done they might stress test with a open beta/free retail though they know what they is doing..

i guess i was one of those few people that hated diablo...

for me it reaked...stunk, abosulty overwhelmed itself of games like crusader no remorse and stuff like that...i was like wow, blizzard...the idea department is on fire lately.

in all honosty, thats what blizzard is MOST known for, they havnt made an original game...EVER..quality yes, they make very good titles, some i still play. but orginal? hell no...

they road on the coat tails of what ever was prevoisly done, added a little bit of a twist, maybe made it a bit more pretty and said, Mom! i'm done, look what i made.

they didnt get into RTS untill westwood already paved the way...

why do you think they made star craft? they needed some pretty and more modern to tend to gamers who where enjoying red alert and those titles and though chopping woot and being fruity trolls and gaints was a little over done...

when the fire was stollen, okay folks, back to warcraft...

bah...i beautiful games yes, i dont hold it against them, after all at least they dont make the mistakes of their competators...and thats something to say in their favor. they learn...but from other peoples mistakes, not their own brillence.

Fire Warrior isnt scheduled to come out for PC until October 28th, and it isn't scheduled for PS2 until November 5th.

Hehe. I'm on the Sony Europe Network Beta Trial thing , so I got that game a long time ago lol, and played it to death online too. (beta trial version only had first mission, but they sent the full disks as a thank you, so that was pretty nice :D)

I like firewarrior PS2 (very unsure of its life as a game tho, gets stale, but is fun while it lasts)

So. PC version is crap then eh ?

*prays for GTA4 to be online , and prays to test it*

Still tho... whatever complains ive had and have... I still havent found a game with the lifetime of Neocron.
