View Full Version : THREADS MERGED - Spy-/PE-PA is out
As you might know, my work on getting new Items ingame via Runs is loved by one part of the community, and hated by the other. I hope, that this time, I will be able to let everyone have his fun.
The PA Run (it's the same run for both Spy- and PE-PA) is a pure story run, that means you dont have to carry Item A to Place B, instead you get to talk to the NPCs and slowly find out one location: the location where the PAs are sold. This NPC which sells the PAs does it if you didn't do the run first, too, but he will ask for a lot more money, 2.5 times as much, to be precise. A PA1 costs 20K if you did the run, and 50K if you didn't. A PA4 costs 80K if you did the run, and 200K if you didn't.
Why even bother with the run if both isn't exactly expensive? If you are asking yourself this question right now, don't do the run. This Run is candy for those, that enjoy a neat little Story Run (which reveals much of the current Storyline). Anyone who just wants his PA already is free to directly go to the trader, without wasting time on a run.
Now for the location of the trader. To avoid spoilers for those that are interested in doing the run, this:

Well im not entirly happy with it. Im wondering where is the TC bonus as stated in a past neocronicle. i suppose the RC wont be anymore genourous. Oh and give PA3 a colour and not a white colour. Apart from that it seems all ok....just get em in the shops its too long goin foster to get em.

PE PA level 2 is dex 80 ( i heard )
i myself got PE PA level 3 Dex 90 rc 10.. got my 70/70 rank back finaly after i changed imps i lost so much rc i lost the rank :( but i got it back now with the PA thanks callash we love u much...
btw.. got scarred like hell when i took it off and right after it was gone.. din't show in my inv.. tho after a relog it was there..
Just saw the first PE PAs on pluto, they dont look THAT bad when u see em in action :)
edit: i wonder if Pistol PEs hold the gun with both hands or gangsta style with PA on. can anyone checK?

Got killed trying to get near it. Oh well, my fault I suppose for hoping for the good nature in people to surface, regardless of faction. As usual, the biggest clans and dominant factions get first dibs, the rest get the scraps. Meh.

Me and Bob thought that we had found the second guy, but he wouldn't talk to us. We both relogged and he still wouldn't. So we killed him hoping that when he respawned he would talk to us. But he hasn't respawned yet :(

why don't PE's have to drug to wear PA 4 while other class do???
A PE at dex 100 without drugs is gimped.
So they do if they want to be good in PvP, which is the point of PA.

Found the starting npc, then the second, but the second has left me confused... Anybody got the location of the third npc?

Wee, finished the run, and it was well worth doing IMHO. You can tell that a lot of work went into that, so yay Callash.
Was probably a good idea to give the higher cost no run option though, not all attention spans are made equal. :D
For those confused finding the NPC's - the suspiciously placed NPC you're probably talking about IS a quest NPC, however you have to visit them in order and visiting him is a Job for later. Consider the data might be guarded, and the guards in CA hq couldn't guard against a roach attack. Think stronger.
And I'm off to bed now!
All I can say is OMFG. Nice one on both the spy and pe PA's Callash, they were both worth the wait.

Maybe not.
One of the vendors got killed by some under-endowed-pillock-child and did respawn so maybe the quest ones do too.
@Callash - Nice one, you continue to impress me. I admit I took the quick option first but that's only to avoid the twat-factor that has now inevitably set in up there. I'll be doing the run ASAP to get all the background. Thanks for giving us that option too. Great work, really great.

I'm one of the few people trying to do the run, but its a tricky one...
I've tried all the obvious 'religious' places, such as PP3 crahn place, C_06 church (where you get monk PA), the wreched church in OZ5 and the crahn hq in OZ9.
I've also tried talkign to npcs in neocron like Brother Gabirel, the drunk in vr3.
Has anyone found this 2nd npc or have any suggstions?
btw if you didn't know the run starts in Tangent HQ where you get a datadisk with logfiles in...

is the NPC that sells the armour in the zone its in near the OP or is it somewhere else. im there stealthed with my pe adn all i see is a grp of TG in the zone and cant find the npc

Well its for now probably a GM spawned NPC so they cant make it automatically spawnable unless they made up a patch for it. And you know how long patches take.
just anoys me that people have to kill it to have fun. bad enough they spawned it in a warzone let alone one near TG where they seem intent on doin anything and everything to stop people gettin it even tho they have been waitin ages for this.
if theres a gm on plz respawn npc on saturn and make it not killable plz

Hrm....Well, I found the 2nd NPC, but he won't even *talk* to me. It's not the normal "enter conversation mode and never say anything", it's "won't even start a freakin' conversation".
I know it's the correct NPC because a guy I know used it just a few minutes before. I'm wondering if there isn't some sort of time limit placed on this. It's annoying though, whatever it is.
I guess I'll go do the rest of my epic and then see whether the guy is still a deaf-mute. :lol:

And I have complained about PSI PA Reqs, also I think Spy PA reqs are a little high but hey..heh
What i dont get is that the spy PAs...
remove int and then remove end what is under con. Why that? Either i have to wear PA 1 or i have to permanently use Deso Forte to be abled to wear PA 2. Int is hard enough to level so why do we spys get a pa that protects us against xray and then kills our ability to wear heavy belts? And im a spy who got SF and SA implanted....dex 93 int 89 without imps. :(
On the other hand, my spy is doing fine now...capped dmg on his FL and disruptor, RoF of 113 on his RoG...the dmg i deal is teh evil!!!11!
But it sucks to hunt mobs with rank 81... o_O
You capped Disruptor dmg with only 93 dex?? What imps do you have in, and whats your r-c?
Man I was really hoping the PE PA would go well but... something the GMs might want to look into. The PA rifle PA 3 is really pistol and vice versa. So I tried to buy pistol, ended up with a rifle PA instead. Tried it again, ended up with a rifle PA again, decided to try and buy a rifle PA, ended up with pistol. And too boot I ended up not liking the stats of the pistol PA so I ended up blowing 450k. :( I r teh sad.

You should really do some testing before saying you cant wear any heavy belts. Perhaps you just need to level a bit.
The minus to endurance is totaly insignificant, because no spy puts points into that, so it has no effect on the CON setup.

Though I have my PA now (thanks to someone obtaining a few innocrect sets...) I am worried about the new NPC bug I seem to get. I couldnt not (and still cannot) talk to the Gamma Bone NPC. Now I find I cannot talk to the vendors at ...location X (that was nearly a spoiler lol)
The Borders for a conversation start up , but no matter how long I wait I get no reply :(
Relogged , shut off client , restarted PC, Checked files. nothing works.
Anyone shed any light on this ?
*note I can talk to the TTHQ NPC who starts the PEPA run.

vendor script for PE PA 3 is bugged.
If you want rifle, you get pistol. If you want pistol, you get rifle.
I dont know if this only happens on Uranus or all servers.
Now imagine a player who buys three or four of them and pays 150 000 for each.
BTW: MONK 2 PPU run is also still bugged. The crahn NPC dont tell you all items.

Oh, increase the req's on PA, rifle PE's usualy have 93 Dex for pain easer, quick chip change for 95, quick drug for 100, perm PE 4 PA.

no sarcasm here m8, really good idea for getting new pa's those who want to take part in story get a bonus of cheaper armour yet those with no patience (me :p ) can pay extra and get it straight away. really good idea, keeps everyone happy
A bit late maybe, but I've been out the past two nights in a row.
Anyways, firstly, Callash - thanks for releasing the PAs, before the deadline you set for yourself too, someone who lives up to their promises at long last :)
Secondly, a stroke of genius in making a run "optional" - with a bonus if you do it. That would never be something I would have thought of :)
Admittedly, I skipped the run to get it ASAP, but I certainly will be going back again to get a spare one to keep in the cabs at home in case I lose it, and partly to find out what kinda content you've amusingly added :)
All in all, another brilliant piece of work!

Is anyone else having problems with the 2nd NPC in the run on Saturn? He won't talk to me. He can't even be "used", e.g. - You click on him and *nothing* happens.

there are no chip that can get me to dex 95 without fucking my setup up.. well there is an SA but i don't have it :p.. and i gotta take the armor off everytimes i wanna buff up.. so i aint every using PA 4 i never use drugs :p

The PA3, with it's colour scheme, does look like a storm trooper. But the PA4 looks dark and moody.
Besides, they look really good from the back, and that's all I ever see :D
60/69, capped libs, driving my HA Trike and I'm not nerfed. I feel justified! :D
When i wear the spy PA, they all got the same grey color. No differences to me although i can see different colors on other monks and they can see em on my PA.
Only i cant see my real PA color. Anyone else experienced that?
To Tazo's response: We droners only lost out because so few of use are on the board and all we got was a nebulous, "We can't do three sets of PA", which was never actually explained.... I've said it before and I'll say it again;
There had better be something DAMN COOL in the works for droners....
Geeze, I usually don't get pissed about this kind of thing, but I'm tired of droners getting fucked over.

Finished the run.
You vaguely have to use your head.
I did find the second npc place but he wasn't there at the time, thus my screaming on the forums.
The other 2 were piss easy to find.
Woudl have been more fun if the dialogue excluded the location, and kept the IOB for you to decode your self.
Hey DJ, when did you speak to the 2nd NPC?
I went there last night and this morning and the place was deserted.

They should make those NPCs "hidden" Copbots.. with a rank of 20/20 but with the power of a STORM-Bot. :D

Could be possible he was killed by the large numbers of spiders and other small mobs camping him. I had to kill them all before he would talk, poor sod only has a pistol.
Mobbed by a mob of small mobs, eh? Well I suppose its a possibility ;)
Still, I'm looking forward to doing the run just as soon as the NPC is re-spawned. The whole optional run thing is a great idea, I just hope Callash doesn't become a victim of his own sucsess :D

They don't need to be STORM-Bots, but more likely, just have their guns.
That way, they won't shoot "criminal" players, yet be able to defend themselfs quite well.

Anyway, stfu, I didnt need that response. Droners get hardly any loving in this game, apart from the hap hazard attempt that kk made with the chips they gave us.
I mean KK doesnt even know how their game works half the time, Like the Ultima-LAserblade mod. Any Melee tank, can tell you it doesnt need; freq, handling or range :( So why is it in the game, its the single most usless thing in the game.

Eh, no, I think he means the Tangent guy isn't talking, but in comparision the Biotech guy is. I think. :D
As for that, try a full relog, i.e. don't come back for at least a minute so that your character disappears from the world. Also, some have suggested alt-tabbing before or during the black widescreen bars. Worth a try.

actually it was the guy outside of the biotech HQ, the gamma bones guy. for some reason i thought biotech made the PAs. but yeah a full relog does the trick for me.

PA-NPC is bugged (surprice surprice).
The guy in zone x_xx wont talk, cant rightklick him, relogging wont work...
Why not just sell them in A&W shops until KK can get
these NPC bugg free.
Try talking to one of the npc's thats inside the little tower. You can't see them but they tend to talk more than the one or two guys you can see. Worked for me...
Bah none of the gimps in the tower are talking.... Great clipping there too :)
Well I bought Rifle PA 1 and 2 for my spy, even though the skill bonus is worthless to him as a droner, and Pistol PA 1 and 2 for my PE. The biggest reason for getting it for my spy is that it's MUCH better armor than he could possibly wear normally, considering with all the STR draining implants, his STR is like 17. That and it's stylish.:D
I dont know if anyone think about this before but.... as the PA that are being sold in xxx location are product of data stolen, could be than are worst quality than the ones Tangent would release?
Think about that, the data was stolen but not completely, so Tangent could make some mods in the ones they put in shops (at higher prices)
Another thing is that all the Tangent runners that buy the PA's to this npc's should be faction penalized! That data robbery is making Tangent lost MILLIONS of Nc's (just think about 120-150k per Spy and PE runner buying the armor!!!)
