Hi hows it going? nice support this game has directing me to a public forum and all :D ..... anyway can anyone out there help me? I get this fault when i try to use the auto patch downloader :

no idea what it means but i'm seeing it alot and i guess it aint good!

if its downloading lots of fixes let it run if u can wait and it should be fine after other wise id suggest a fresh reinstall

u could try clicking that button that looks for corrupted fiels and replaces em

well you see thats just it, it says that its causing an illegal error or some such then closes the application

so ur updating the patches? Ok, go to ftp://ftp.neocron.com into the retail patches folder, download em to c:\program files\neocron\patches, then delete patches 154 and 166 or something like that, should fix it.

delete them? but i've just spent half the day downloading them! the problem occurs at patch 160 ive downloaded the patches up to 179 manually but when i start the auto patcher to carry on it starts at 160 again.... I just got the game today you see so i have to start from 141 or summat

if all else fails - reinstall and threaten the computer with a clenched fist and a mouth full of wise insults prime cut for the moment.

OK BOIS I being the allmighty cyber chick that I am. I had the same patch problem with 160 AND if you had passed the 160 test another prob with 185. Ok when I tell you this you are to worship my high heeled BOOT! :)

For 160...Delete the 159 patch and when it comes to 159 let it download 159 since its only a small 11K patch THEN it will pass 160 and continue to 185 where it will start downloading the 185 patch for some reason. To pass THIS (this is the clever bit I figured out:)) Rename patch 185 to cpTMP000185.pat and it will think it has to continue downloading it. It will find that it is at the END of the download and continue on to the next patches without any further problems.

Problem Solved. QED etc etc. :D

Also make sure you download the patched launcher (ftp://ftp.neocron.com/retailpatches/NeocronLauncher.exe) which doesn't suffer from that problem. :)
