View Full Version : Idea for benafits from raids on faction hqs

Note to mods: Plz dont move to brainport. Im posting this in BP too, for the 3 people that read it, and here, so we can actually get a discussion going. This request was granted before, so I hope it can be again.

Everyday, I raid at least TH, MB, or TG, if not all 3. Sometimes, we kill everyone there, and nobody comes to try to stop us anymore. I wish we could do something then... I mean, BD or TT occupying TH, or TG occupying CA HQ should be signifigant. I think there should be some kind of way to loot and pillage, or get some reward for holding the area. Maybe, after you hold if for 20 minutes strait, you start getting 1000 cr for ever minute your able to stay, to represent looting the other factions HQ.

Or, at least cause damage of some kind, maybe have destructable objects in each faction hq that reresent the faction. If an enemy faction comes in and manages to destroy it (it would take a lot of hits, and all in faction would get a notice so they could protect it) they would get a nice bit of cash.... or something worthwhile.

Now, I know a bunch of carebears will proably cry over this, saying it increases fighting, so maybe if there was option 2, the object in each faction HQ, every player could choose weather or not to play in this game... Everyone whos gonna play "signs up" if your raiding party destroys and enemy factions faction hq object, you get money, and members of the faction who had the object destroyed lose money for not succesfully defending (if they are online)

No you're fucking right dude, that's a great idea.

I've always thought something like this should be implement.




Also, it would be cool if a very high level hacker could hack into the HQ funds or something.

I think that's suppposed to be what taking someone's op is like

but something for home bases

interesting, more fighting - not totally bad, but certianly bad if it totally disrupts the functioning of an area. Like say if TG could run through plaza 1 and disrupt trading and leveling of lower characters. it would be a breakdown of several economies -- that would be counter productive to the strenght of the player base.

as a TG it's a lot of fun to defend against someone comming through, it's cool. but if there was some sort of additional funds or XP bonus for ganking the TG base it might be too disruptive for the flow of the game there.

still, it's a cool idea. there are some good kernels there

Sounds nice. Factions HQs should be more usefull beyond the "gimme my epic mission" thing they currently serve for. Protecting them or even go there doesnt make any sense at all. Maybe slight bonuses to tradeskills while youre in your faction HQ would be a nice addition too.

Great idea, reminds of me king of the hill game type in several games. Needs tweaking to make it non exploitable... for example team goes into a hq. Takes it over and everyone leaves but one which would stay in some safe place just to get the money. Of course LE chipped players wouldn't get any bonuses from takeover.

that would be a great idea since when DoY comes out it will be very hard to no city factions to go inside the city

so some prize should be granted the same way u get a prize for holding an op

Yeah, something that added more value to the faction HQ would be cool, like + to trade skills or some kinda bonus. Something to really make people wanna defend.
