Ok so I've waited for this for what 4 years? something like that.

It's here and I must say IT'S A F^%KING CONSOLE GAME.

It has about as much depth and intelegence as a porn model. Point and shoot that's it. The vehicle driving is MUCH worse than neocron - press forward steer with mouse - so where you look you drive - no option of looking sideways to see what's going on around you.

The 2 guns only is a fairly nice trick but after 2 hours of gameplay it is the only thing that has really stood out as different.

Graphically it is a very mixed bag - think smooth as silk textures with about as much detail as quake 2. It's all VERY clean - ie invasion in spaceship - no mess. At all.

It's hard to explain how it looks but imagine a console game in high res and your getting there.

It is smooth and the main character model is good. Can't say the same for the gibbering munchkins that keep trying to attack me however. They are just ugly and annoying. Loading time is great too - keep expecting "synchronizing" any second.

Honestly for a single player alternative to NC I think Chrome is a better bet - it's a hell of a lot more prettier for a start!

PS I am a graphics whore and proud of it!
AMD 2400+/GF 4-4600/512MB DDR2700/Win 2k pro (saves about 35% resources over XP) = I get 40fps in a large op war but I'm still the first to die :-(

Thats all its was ver going to be.. after all... its only the CONSOLE game re-coded for PC with a few bits thrown in. and anyway. its a damn good game as is.

wait for halo 2. tho its guna be a console game AGAIN first shud be alot better for the PC side.

Halo was a PC game. MS bought Bungie and made it a console game.

At the same time they seem to have drained all the PC style intellegence from it and made it into a game teenangers can manage to play for 5 minutes which is the length of their attention span.

i know it was a PC game i sat waiting for its release soon as i hear word of it..

then i cried for months after Xbox stole it

But it was made into a console game (btw.. the capitalised letters wernt aimed at you but aimed at slaggin of shitty consoles and there theft of out game ideas)

It was good on the Xbox... I finished it on the max difculty in a two day mash out...


Very easy.. cept the last level, the warthog speed challenge, messed that up first time...


Pretty fun for five min's. I'd not get the PC version, cause 5 min fun is not why I play PC games.. I want deep fun..

Ive played it on pc an lvoed it. I dont care how easy the driving is. As long as its fun. Becouse isent that what games r all bout? Also i love the weapon affects and lighting. I tihnk the textures are better then quake 2. An this game runs real smooth. Im lovin it. I think they made it great for pc.

ive also played it i liked it as much as console...idk if i will invest in it yet cuz Doom 3 and HL2 are coming...thats alot of $$ on games that i wont play that much cuz i still have my trusty old NC :p

oh one question though, how many people can play in 1 server, and hows the lag. and also, how many people overall would you estimate play online?

ya it was the "demo":p but it had lots of bugs like doors and obsticals not showing up so kept running onto and invisible force but ummm...it u played the console version its kinda hard to get used to but i liked it. Idk if it will be worth buying...i'll prolly go to a game center to test it out then decide. But i'm buying Doom 3 and HL2 when they hit the shelves wether or not i have played them or not. :D <==== thats me thinkin about Doom 3!

Eh, I'm not going to bother with the PC version as my computer sucks, and it probably wouldn't even be playable. Besides, I've got a perfectly good copy for my Xbox. That and Halo 2 is coming.....

Edit: Don't really give a shit about Doom3, looking forward to HL-2, but kind of depressed, as it'll probably work about as well on my computer as trying to compute Pi with your microwave keypad.
