Cannot connect to neocron.

Looking at people's signiture there appears to be players in Neocron, but I can't connect to the server for some reason. I heard many bugs about 188 and 189, could this be one of this. Can anybody connect to neocron server?

I get this error message when I try to connect to the game after D/Ling the newest patch.

"File Error

File system check failed: 3 file(s) corrupt or missing

language\fra\language\eng\help.ini
language\fra\language\eng\itemdesc.ini
language\fra\language\eng\text.ini

The application will now shutdown"

Thing is, i've run the file checker and it doesn't report any problems. Short of emailing helpdesk, does anyone have any ideas on how I might be able to fix it please?
