it's 1920*480, problem is the higher resolutions don't seem to work, else i'd be using 3840*1024, i actually had the same problem when i played anarchy online.
You sould see Battlefield at 3840*1024 ;)

Is this true wide screen with additional peripherial vision that the rest of us Box users cant see, ?

Or

Is this normal view with the top & bottom cut of ? (which would suck)

I have a square 21 inch monitor so id like to try this, do i just select a wide resoloution in the configure screen or does this require some further software ?

it's one videocard with 3 monitors connected to it.
True widescreen resolution is less wide

check this this (http://www.matrox.com/mga/products/parhelia/128mb.cfm) for info on the card

oh and it's not normal view, it's a tad bit zoomed, but i see more on the side, let's say i miss 10 % top/bottom and gain more on the side or something

and you can't do this view on a normal monitor, the resolution is 1920x480 so it's 3 times 640x480, shame that the game can't run in a higher res with 3 monitors. dunno why cos i can selct the higher resolutions, but the game keeps sending me back to the desktop.

I tried changing it, but it didnt have an option for those kinds of resolutions.
