View Full Version : The way it is and why it doesn't work...

Well.. I'm growing sick of all these nerf this and nerf that threads now.
So let's make something constructive for once.
And here's what I got to tell to you all... It's the tale of the neocron
The new time.

The wars come and go
We find things
and lose things
The monks where found in the caves
And they made the GenTanks
The spies have trained
and the PEs run around...

Now it has come to this.. The we start finding unbalance in the world. Why? Because it is of course.
But the reason? The reason is that you are all so fixated at war.
The neocron, the new time, is not all about fighting..
This sounds like a my d*ck is bigger than yours contest with guns.
And with that everyone starts complaining.
Now let's for once take a look at the reasons we are around.

The Private Eyes first. Are to be known as the "Jack of all trades".
They gain quite good experience in all categories.
Why? Because they haven't really got more than "human limits"
So of course they go good in all places

While the spy is trained and trained in his intelligence and stealth.
He's a sniper, yes, he's a shadow yes.
But he's not someone you meet face to face. Ever.
Because all his training has made him lose both strength and constitution.

The "monks" as they are called, where once found living in the caves, they had not seen daylight for many years, they developed a psi above everyone else's imagination.
However they were not many and they aren't really gonna grow for a while

The GenTanks, created by the monks for warfare only.
Produced in great numbers. With the one sole purpose of waging war and not fear death, therefore the monks chose to not give them insight and to much brains..

Now let's see what we have here
*Massproduced GenTanks
*Weak spies
*"normal" PEs
*Weak and small numbered monks

This should be so damn clear to everyone know what I'm trying to say is wrong.

There's a (historical) number of about 1/10 monks/tanks,
with that I mean one monk goes for ten tanks
And OFCOURSE the monks have to be strong against ten tanks.
Maybe he wouldn't even survive.
Of course he could, with a ppu, but that adds up for 10 more tanks
So then we got 2 monks VS 20 tanks. Fair play? Not really

Well you see now? The only real reason to why the game doesn't work is
1)It's more of a story than a game
2)Everyone thinks it's all about lone wolf fps pvp instead of roleplay
3)We have freedom of choice when we choose what class to be

Solutions? Of course I have those
1)KK could just change the pov to 3rd person isometric (yes alot of programming involved)
which might get all "OH! 1337 CS copy!" nutjobs get the hell outta here

2)Dump the posibility for tanks to survive on their own but be STRONG in groups and buff up monks a little more and nerf spy health MORE, which would result in people being forced to play in a certain way

3)Keep the story up and force peope to be involved.

My own opinions? All you fucking FPS ppl out there, bugger off, this is RPG.

Well that's just my 2cents I suppose..

[Edit]ed a small typo, Tanks are produced, not monks ....
