My thoughts.
1.It's too big and bulky at the chest area and shoulders. It would fit for a tank pa, but pes are supposed to look stylish and sleek.
2.The face part is ugly, sorry. :(
3.The body design itself kicks ass, but the color has to go. Like NCPD pa looks great, but the color is horrible.
4.What's with the star wars theme? :p

Its the legs, and the fact that it has no mouth piece.
The legs look to rushed and the way the neck doesnt quite conect right with the helmet, cuz there is no chin.
I think it needs a bit of work but i like the torso and the arms as well as the basic idea for the helmet

I agree, my first thought was it doesnt fit the pe, with the cool look and fast movement. However im more bothered about the pa stats than its looks...Give us a teaser of the stats :angel:

I think KK should use that model for the melee tank PA. I mean tanks are already ugly so who cares? PE's on the other hand are easily the best looking class. I think you guys are TOTALY overreacting. Its not all that bad. I love the torso and the way the arms look. The steal texture is pretty neet. I think its just the head that needs a little work. The legs can use an improvment but, they are okay.

Ugly on all counts. The idea the other runners seem to have about trench-coats is an excellent idea, provided they style them according to what Neo wears in the Matrix.

Ive played a PE for 8 months now , and all I ever see is we get the worst of whats leftover from the other classes... we cant use the top end weapons , we cant use decent stealths , the way things are looking gliders are pretty much going to be beyond us. Id really like for once for us to get a new object that we could be proud of...

I put a quick thought to something, paint the whole PA Black, and tack on a cape, and make it boost str by +40 and melee +80, get the hook up with a 4s Devils Grace.......

Understand, that I am not saying specialize, not once did i use the word specialize, but don't make the PE into a Cinderella (treating them like ass, compaired to the other 3). I personally think although it isn't the greatest model in the world, Callash is a great person for managing to bring us all this AND work it into the neocronicle.
Thanks Callash, don't let their abrupt and rude way of saying they'd prefer a sleeker look put you off. Perhaps the PA can be updated at some point but it was good of you to use this model to give the PEs what they have wanted for ages, (and bitched about not having).

Im not sure how your guys concept of graphics are, But the character models within Neocron are the worst I have ever seen, Thankfully when the PA's came along I could cover the awful models, something youlot seem to think are good looking! :confused:
I will wear the PA, I think it looks 'OK' your right, its not quite as amazing as the Monks or Spys, but then again, its 100x better than the tanks low polly, bland one.
Wait until you give it a try, see it move, and see it close up, I remember everyone saying they hated the monk PA at first, comments flying round "I look like im off the set of frickin star wars!!!!!!!!1111oneoneoneeee"

1) I don't mind the armour. It would be nicer with a different helm and a trenchcoat on the back. Then I think that it would look pretty cool.
2) I am pissed about getting the spy's leftovers.
But Callash is just the messenger, so I won't blame him like most of the rest of the people here are.
It's cool, just should have more mass. Ie. PEs ain't gonna fit into that.

The only comment I have is lose the helmet and make the model somewhat sleeker (As in, less broad chest, somewhat sleeker legs and arms), apart from that it's actually not so bad.
And if you do lose the helmet; it'd be neat if it would just show the face of the player wearing it.
So as a PE what in your world are we supposed to do supernova? As apparantly we shouldn't fight (not APU or tank) and we can't tradeskill.

But I'm thinking this may be temporary anyway, as an unused playermodel it was there to be used. I reckon another competition is the answer - tell us the restrictions (polycount, no. of textures etc) and let us build the model. The bloke who did those sketches that someone else linked to has already provided a superb base.
Its not just for combat though.... its what your character will wear fora large majority of the time. I would want someone to be able to make a difference between a Male or Female in PA.

no PA is for defense, I dont think you need any defense sitting in plaza 1. its up to you whether you want to wear it for other than battle, so if its not liked, take it off unless you need it. simple

Ignoring the stats, I'd prefer something like this:
You all know the stereotypical "Black Ops" look, right? Black thermal undersuit, layer of kevlar protecting the vitals (Chest, neck, perhaps the head) and a face concealing gask mask.
I'd like something like this because in addition to being fairly androgynous (If gender specific PA wasn't possible), it puts across the general "feel" of a PE, ie athletic and military minded.
Would be appropiate more than the current PA, if you ask me.
Failing that, a blatant copy of the Wolfenstein Flamethrower Dude's uniform would be nice. :D

The head's ugly, pull those cheeks in and change the eyes. Make the torso less muscly (sp?). The arm's look like their Biceps are too big.
Zane'll wear it in combat, for the bonuses, but to be honest, get that idea of a Neo-esque trenchcoat on the go. Then Zane will look even more like me in RL :D rofl
Summary: Work on the model later, get it in game sooner. No one liked it when it was the Spy PA. But Yay! PE get's a PA.

Folks here are merely expressing their opinions in a comical manner. Im sure none of them mean any actual disrepect, since if such was the case, they'd simply quit the game.
The constructive criticism brought forth by the community, and the essential fact that the devs actually listen and implement the ideas brought forth, is what makes this game so amazingly good.
We find that the current model of the PA isnt to our liking. We make the devs cognizant of this fact, and they actually go ahead and revoke the design. Now if that isnt a healthy relationship, i dont know what is. Im not calling Callash a fat, pregnant cow, as you are so quick to assume, FBI. At the end of the day, being an end user, im trying to provide the manufacturer with some feedback.
...Feedback they asked for. Feedback that, unlike many a company, they actually utilise to better their output. No one here in their senses would condemn them.
As for the current model of the PE PA, someone earlier made a very good point, about making the armour resemble the one portrayed on the box. Its essential that the PE's armor be extremely sleek and atheletic, and the colour i'd drool over would be dark, shiny black, with touches of gray.
Though i wouldnt really want one, if a helmet is absolutely essential, i'd prefer one that is tight-fitting, much like the sleek ones SWAT teams wear, with a visor that doesnt cover the face from the nose-down. A holster on the leggings of the pants wouldnt be tasteful as well, so long as it isnt over-done.

Heh, I had a feeling this might happen. When PE PA was confirmed, and that it would be arriving at the same time as Spy PA, it occured to me that there just happened to be a spare PA model kicking around...heh.
Anyway, I can think of two things that need to be adjusted:
The chest is to big - unless thats the version for female PE's ;)
The colour is too similar to the CA Epic (i.e. dirty brown) - perhaps the texture's hue could be adjusted just a little?
Do that, and I'd happily wear it.

I've seen you around this forum but you've never set foot on what I tend to look at as my turf before.
You just made a mistake that most of the rest of the forum has tended not to.
PEs are the only self-sufficient combat character left.
I don't know how much of a newb you are, but PEs are the new hybrids, most of the people I know that went PE from Hybrid after the nerf, are just about the only ones that are still even remotely happy.
With Shelter, Blessed Deflector, Damage Boost, the PE can be one of the, if no the, most versitile battle unit on the field.
Only surpassed in team support action by the PPU and APU (Holy Anti-buff), the PE Makes up for that, by being able to scout out ahead with Stealth.
This suit doesn't even look like it would be capable of stealthing...
PEs are light infantry, fast attack, true, that normally means fast dead, but they're adaptable, they're good at recovering, they're good at grabbing attention and gathering information.
People who can't see the offencive and defencive combat bonuses/advantages of the PE, instead of just it's weaknesses, are either tactically retarded, or just not trying.

the suit doesnt look that bad from the side, but front on it looks a bit....well shit, dont like the face mask on it, the chest are is ok, but the leg armour needs a bit of work.

Combat isn't everything in neocron. I won't wear it because it doens't fit in with my characters Biker Chick image.
Also as I stated before, the model is ok its just the head that is scary and I'm annoyed at getting given a model that was rejected a few months ago.
I Well idea the helmet should be like an skull or similar ustead of some messed up scuba helmet and make the suit onix color or graphite that would be pimp right there or maybe like it looks shaped to ur face but its looks skin tight. just my idea

I think that pe power armour looks better than that last idea, and better than samusus power suit. I also think it looks better than the power armour from fallout 1 and 2 actually. nice.

I love the PE PA screenshot. Give me that in black or charcoal gray. (none of this wood veneer crap) I like pretty much everything. The legs are kind of weird, but I can get used to that. I like the face (?surprisingly?) but the only problem I have with the head is the way the top of the helmet looks. I feel like there should be something above the eyes, you know? A visor or an additional plate of some kind. (think like the helmets from Aliens) The forearms are a little funny too, reminds me of Leela from Futurama. (with the wrist-computer dealie) Maybe have them taper in slightly more (only a few degrees) towards the wrist end? It'd also be really cool if the idle animation with rifles (you know how most rifles are held at the hip once firing is finished, by most of the models) was to have the rifle held across the chest.
Anyway, uh, just so I can fit in.. (ONOZ I GAVE INPUT AND CREATIVE CRITICISM KOS KOS!!111!11!1!!11!!!1!)

Tbh, I'm not sure exactly what it is about it that I don't like. It just looks kinda dorky.. like people'd push it sideways so it falls over then laugh at the poor PE inside.
I think it's the 'mouth' and torso proportions that make it funny rather than cool for me. Though agreed that the side view screenshot doesn't look half as bad.

i like the idea of "borrowing" sam fisher's suit, imo it fits perfectly for a pe: sneaky, fast, stealthy, and light armored (they are scouts so heavy armor doesnt really fit to the class imo.)

Those sketches are absolutly amazing, if the PE PA was like that, you'd have to kill me to stop me getting one. Hell, if the Devs would actually use it, i'm sure I could convince some friends of mine to model/skin it. (with the artists permission of course).
but, the one they have a screen shot of, makes me want to delete my PE's, it's just...depressing...
Edit: Also, I thought the Spys were the scouts? I've always thought of PE's more as the grunts, doing a bunch of jobs in medium armor.

Well that's just the point. Usually you can say at least they made an effort, it's better than nothing at all. Sniper rifles were OK because we were promised new models, which were actually pretty damn cool. But nobody's said this is a temporary model, which is extremely bad. Ok....up till now i've been agreeable :rolleyes: with Neocron's somewhat abstract concept of future design...but now, i can hold my tongue for no longer.....THIS is NEOCRON damnit, in the 28TH century, not some cheesy 80's B-movie Roger Corman flick. I thought the Copbots design was stupid,( like it was straight out of a Power Rangers episode O_o ), but this is ridiculous. I wouldn't be caught dead, let alone running around Neocron, in power armour that made me look like i was an INSECTOID from the planet NR 8376 GAMMA PRIME.. I don't care what kind of protection it offers....it looks stupid. KK needs to sit down with its suit AND vehicle designers and have a heart to heart. And if that doesn't work then maybe they better start soliciting designs from the public...:confused: :(

This is my concept for the private investigator power armor. Yes it is very badly drawn; I have no artistic talent at all. But I had what I thought was a cool image in my mind. Think of it as a very rough/bad blue print I suppose. If there are any real artists out there maybe they could draw it well using the ideas. The main idea was to display the face, have a hat, and trench over the power armor. I've never seen a private investigator without his/her trusty trench, and usually a hat. Also that it would be open to show the power armor underneath. So try to picture in your mind how it would look, well done, and in game. Thanks for looking! (I hope I post it right, first time putting an image up)

Well since there is only one model each for male and female heads, you could just copy and paste the PE head onto the PA model, and add a few checks to find out which head skin to show, whether the wearer is male/female, and there ya go.
It looks funny! But I have no artistic abilities as I stated before, I could have written out a detailed description of it. But I decided to show how it looks. A cowboy hat? Hmm, I don't think it does but anyhow..that isn't how I intended it to look. The hat is just there to represent a private investigators hat, as nearly every movie i've seen with a private eye, they're wearing a trench and hat. Thats too bad about the face not being able to be displayed unless what Scikar says is possible. Unless they can come up with a cool looking "helmet" area. Something that would fit a private investigator.
KK, I think you should contact Shanku and see if he'll let you use his idea for PA. Personally, I think he would be flattered if you did, esp. considering that the current one looks.... uh.... uhm.... 'ghetto'. :p (Not to mention, as I've said in all my posts before, uber f'ugly.)

The PA looks friggin badass... cant wait to have my PE try it on. I'm just not lookin forward to giving up my Titan armor to wear it. Its gunna mess up my resist setup. *cries* :( But good job anyhow i think it looks good.

I think I would consider this a temp PE PA if I were you KK and get working on a slightly improved version.
PE PA should be a bit sleaker looking....just read this entire thread and you will realize that 80%+ don't like it.
All I could think about when I looked at the pic was "hmmm, does this mean I can swim underwater without losing Stamina now?"

I have noticed that you find it necessary to bombard others with copious amounts of varied vocabulary, possibly to confuse them and avert them from the content of your argument.
However, it has come to my attention that you don't really care what other people are saying, and that you focus too heavily on the way they are saying it. That in mind, I would expect you to appreciate that "OMG you should be shot, this ugly shit is fucking lame" is not in any way on the same level of intelligence and politeness as "I'm sorry to say that is a disgraceful attempt at PE PA, I myself will not be wearing this as it is horrendous".
I would not appreciate people being excessively rude, and not many people would act like that in a face to face confrontation, it seems that these people use the anonomity of the forum as an excuse to 'play up' as it were. Now back ON topic, it looks real tight from the sides, but i can see how the legs kinda throws it off. I dunno since I dont model\skin\ or make graffixs but i guess the legs could use a bit more details and more curves to it like the arms. Still it think it looks pimp either way
its a neat model.. i would use it reguardless.. the head could do a bit of changeing but aside form that its a wonderful model...

I dont find it necessary at all, to utilise varied vocab, in order to show off or confuse others. I DO find it necessary, however, to abstain from getting lazy in my speech, and it helps quite a bit to be more articulate, so as to get my point across. How did you come to the conclusion that i dont care what others think? The reason ive been defending the others here is precisely for that reason. I can easily make a distinction between being rude, and being comical. The monk PA and tank PA all has very class-like looks that fit in the description.
Try and follow that line with the Spy and PE PA's. Might provide some better results.

i always said it should be more of a body suit style, like the picture on the cover of the game box there's both a female and male version on there.
It should be a tightish fitting suit while looks flexible and armoured the pe is most fast and agil.
Add a bit of headgear (if needed) to the male cover suit and add a little more armour to the womens leathers and i'd say there's to nice pa's for pe's.

I think it's pretty fucking obvious how people want it changed, they want an entirely new model altogether, something that would fit the Private Eye's body, like the radiation suit perhaps.
This PA should be the DoY epic reward item imo, like the CA NCPD power suit.
