typically the AAFES brands are not that great. Goto www.crucial.com and grab a stick of 512MB for $84.99 (PC2100). That is tried and tested quality. Depending on what state you're sending it to you won't pay taxes (as is the bonus of buying at a military exchange).

Neocron used to hit the disk from time to time when I had 512MB of RAM - NC got up to over 600MB in use. Since upgrading to 1GB, NC hasn't hit the disk.

The 9100 is a bad idea unles you're really strapped for cash. Go for a 9600 at the minimum - something derived from the R300 core. Best bang for the buck right now seems to be the 9800 non-pro for about 250.

I bought my RAM from NewEgg (http://www.newegg.com/app/manufactory.asp?catalog=147&DEPA=1) and, if I recall, I didn't pay any tax, just shipping. They have some pretty good stuff there, and shipping was not very expensive.

I bought the Corsair TwinX 1024LLPT PC2700 Dual Channel DDR, but that is what I wanted for system. I need more RAM, though. Don't ask me why, but I want 3GB, I just can't find 1GB sticks at PC2700.:(

Anyway, check 'em out if you want, or don't.

Happy shopping! Hope you find what you want!;)

EDIT: Ok, my links are poop-filled. Try looking at www.directron.com or www.outpost.com

The former is Directron, who are good, the latter is Fry's Electronics online store, which is also good.

One note, if you're still running Windows 9x / Me, You'll need to 'upgrade' to XP. Me and below can't handle more than 512 MB RAM.

(Why 'upgrade' instead of upgrade? Because all my frame rates have dropped in every single game since I upgraded from Win 98 SE - not to mention the first thing it did was start giving me 'Infinite Loop' errors from my graphics card - had to downgrade the drivers, which I have NEVER had to do before - never had problems when I've used the latest nVidia's)
