Many of you have cryed your eyes out on this forum after losing everything and only getting a 100k compinsation from kk

but heres a story to make you feal better

My brother plays RO (ragnarok online) he recently got a rare weapon and found ultra rare cards (mods...) to put in it. when the item was fully modded it was worth roughly 20mil. He went around bragging about it to every one ... then he came on one day and it just wasnt there. So he reports it to the proper RO authoritys, and after a couple days of RO 'investigating' he gets and email.


We found no evidence of a hacker taking your item, you will be banned for 15 days for falsly reporting being hacked.

I provided a full description of my account problem, said that the website was no help and even went into detail what I'd tried already.

Got a reply back, basically mounted to "Give more detail about your problem and we can help you."...what the hell? o_O

Likewise, I replied back re-stating all the information I did originally....this is the reply I got back:

"Accounts that have been traded over E-Bay are banned automatically."

Ragnarok Online has the most Fascistic GM's you could possibly imagine. I believe one of the rules states "If you are caught slandering Ragnarok Online employees, you will be banned for xx amount of days".

Oh wait, I just checked them, watch this. There are three levels to every offence (how many times you make em, so the numbers of offences are x3)

The list below is the punishment regulation of International Ragnarok.
All articles are appliable while you play inside the game.
And there is no warning from the GM team before the punishment


Impersonating Game Master or Gravity Staff - Delete ID
Impersonating a certain person to take advantage of his/her friends - 2-day ban
Disrespect practice Insult/abuse GM or Gravity
(Including Sarcastic joke) - 3-days Ban, 5-days Ban, 15-days Ban
Disrespect practice Spread Slander or Rumors against GM or Gravity - Delete ID
Falsified Report Falsified ill-mannered report using the GM mailing service - 3 days ban, 6 days ban, 10 days ban
Useless Spam Foul Language Spam - 2-days Ban, 3-days Ban, 5-days Ban


Those are just some examples

To top it off - this is what it says at the end of the list - For Articles above,it will be changeable without notice when deem neccessary.


-meaning that however the GM feels that day, is how your fate with the game will be dealt with.

Ragnarok was great during beta when it was free for all. Now when you have to pay, it's the worst game ever.

It's their complete lack of some Legal TOS bullshit. A TOS is a "term of service" agreement/legal waiver you have to sign so they don't get sued into oblivion. I guess it's because they aren't in america. Censorship and oppression? Not in germany, and not in Neocron!
NC is the only online game where I don't have to agree to some bullshit contract that a lawer got paid a few thousand to write up.

Ragnarok Online is an ass game anyways, and i say this after playing long enough to see Gravity's first shutdown due to lack of funding, and then having played 2 betas after that.

Saying that you lost something in RO as far as i'm concerned, is like saying you lost the key to a safe with nothing in it. Gravity isn't even serious about the english expansion of the game. If you're like 'WTF dose he mean they're not serious?!', then access their Korean servers, you'll see, I mean damn, they've had Guild Wars for about 1/2 a year now, if not longer. The only thing that the English side has seen is pets, which they've had for eons also.

Yet still, Ragnarok Online has only had one GM, since the VERY beginning, up until just recently,when they decided to accept more (just so you know.).

Actually, though, I will say I can in fact feel sorry for the time that was wasted, and then having gone and lost the items.

Yes people NC isn’t the worst game in the world. Ragnarok has the worst customer relations EVER. Even worse then Dragon Raja, cuz DR simply never gets back to you, while RO does, eventually and bans you. And if people complain about it on their forums they get banned. In fact you get banned for saying anything bad about the game or the company. Its right in their license agreement. Yet this is like the 5th largest MMORPG now…sigh…

Shoulda tried it out when it was beta. It was hella laggy, but 10 000 people on a server wasn't something to be missed. Graphics are horrid (kinda anime so that justifies it but still), but it was still a fun - game.

The only sad thing is that I saw no story in it whatsoever, you just "existed" and leveled for the hell of it, so you could kill big nasty roaches, and boss roach in the 4th level of the sewer O.o.

I say stick to NC. Has a nice balance over story - real time - fighting - issues, not like some *other* gheyms that are currently popular.

Mob training is where you attack say 5 or 6 high level monsters and get them to follow you to some poor sap and then leave him with the monsters so you can kill them. Never really seen it done successfully in NC although it is possible.

Lets be honest though. 99% of that list look like they should be banned, and people with names like ",|,, (*_*) ,,|, " really aren't planning to be an advantage to the game.

HAHA! That's stupid. So when you hunt, the mobs have to stay in the place where you initiate the combat to stop bunching. Why not just spawn the in random(ish) locations.

I've had a train before in NC. Quite un-intentionally fighting two warbots, then one spawns on top of me. I run - into two more and have 5 following me around. So in RO, I could have got banned for that. I tried playing Lineage when it was in beta, and after that and seeing the player base of RO I'm certain that a Korean audience will play ANYTHING. It could be PvP MMO Pac-man and it would have about 700,000 Korean subscribers. Then it would get hacked.

Theres about 7-8 different "ROs", biggest being ThailandRo, KoreanRO, ChineseRO and JapaneseRO(each of these have about 200k+ subscribers min.). Each is published by a different company so they all have different rules/content etc. (iRO is done by the developers Gravity themselves). iRO is probally the smallest with around 20k-25k subscriptions or so im guessing(not sure really thou i havent played since beta).

Ragnarok Online has so many subjective rules that I think you can get banned for doing almost anything in the game... if a GM doesn't like you.

I think that the "Leon_9999 Chaos Disrespect parents 5 day 9/1/2003" and cracky's mention of the Parent or Personality applies to 'yo-mamma' jokes and other assorted insults to other people's parents.. the way it is written suggests that Leon_9999's parents phoned Gravity and told them to temp ban their kid for disrespecting them or something o.o

I couldn't take the constant fear of losing all my things to getting banned... everytime I couldn't log on due to lag or some other error I thought, "OMG Did they ban me yet?"

On a side note, does anyone know if they stop charging your credit card if your account is banned? It'd be downright evil if they didn't considering all their support surrounding account cancellations seemed to be conviently broken the last time I checked.

well, no, see the thing with RO, is that you get exp for a kill, but a PERCENTAGE of a kill if you are group, but ONLY if you are grouped. Due to a bug in their shit game, someone can start killing something, then someone can run up, like a Knight or Assassin and hit a 2HQ or Haste or some shit, and take all the exp for the kill, and if it takes them a little time to kill it, the mob will continue to hit on the original attacker.

/edit - I wonder if Knights are still rape with Magnum Break. For those who don't know, by the way, 2HQ is Two-Hand Quicken, it lets Knights glow yellow AND swing Two-Handed swords, which usually have the longest swinging time, like they were butterknives. (i.e. what would usually be 1 swing every 2 secs, is 1 swing every 0.2 sec with 2HQ cast)
