1 day patch.

Patch safezones away.

Make lom's work the old fashioned way.

increase the droprate 1000%

then patch it all back to normal the next day.

No!

Everybody will be depressed the next day when loms work and they have shit equiptment!

Its basicly cheating and that ruins gameplay.

I definitely think there should be some type of celebration, possibly with some GM events and cool items to be had... but only through some sort of competition. It should be more of a gathering and a "we made it" than anything.

So why weren't people depressed about LOMs before said LOMs existed?

Never understood that...people complain about LOMs "being a waste of time" yet what the hell did these same people do _before_ LOMs even came into existence?

Not the loms bit. Its that this event would show noobies the game before they earn it, taking the insentive away from going out and getting it.

I think noobies will leave.

No, I'm pointing out that some days are amazingly good days, and not every day can be just like the other.

No need to be a negetive asshat, this is supposed to be a happy thread.

:p

edit.

How many fricken' newbies will we have *before* DoY is released?

Not many.

Thats one reason I'm saying that the party should be sometime between when a publisher is found, and when DoY is released.

Perhaps if you read my full 6 lines excluding emote, you would've noted that.

Before LoMs came into existence nobody needed them because there was no specialisation and nobody knew how resists really worked. It was possible to have a perfectly viable character even if you made mistakes early on in the characters development, though making mistakes later on costed you a little, which wasn't so bad. Then the specialisation came in, and suddenly if you spent 5 points in repair by accident you became gimped, so LoMs became necessary.

Life dousn't suck if you treat it with respect.

For example dont get totally drunk when you go out, or you will just forget everything good that happened to you and feel like shit the next day, making life suck. Simple things like that.

Marx
03-09-03, 00:23
Geebus Benjie, I never said life sucked; you're the one going on about it.

That leads me to beleive you're some sort of goth, but thats' neither here nor there.

I don't get drunk, I don't particularly like the feeling of not having full control of myself.

And lastly Benjie, you forget we've had many arguments, based on those previous discussions - I've been led to beleive that.

Hypothesis = true.

Marx = winnar.

They wont do this anyway. There has been 3 votes against it, and they wont do anything unless it's 100% yes and has 300 votes in under 3 hours.

By the way when did we argue?

Marx
03-09-03, 00:25
Benjie

We've argued many times in the brainport, take a look, you'll find a bunch.

TEH ONOZ!

What, your ego gets stroked by this?

I don't particularly care what KK decides to do, though I do think it proper that they show their solidarity and support with and of the playerbase.

Actually there were usually at least 20 votes saying hybrids didn't need to be nerfed. But there were usually 100 votes saying they did.

Remind me to paste that into your Brainport ideas.

Well, my point still stands. If people made a major cock-up back then (And it was known to happen) how would they cope? Seems a little "off" to say that LOMs in their original state would suddenly make Neocron all brilliant and amazing.

Even if people made a major cock-up it was at least possible to salvage something. You could still at least end up with decent stats on a weapon at least. Those few people who completely screwed their char were the ones that prompted KK to create LoMs to allow people to fix their char, since there was no way to cope if you managed to royally fuck up your char (though as I said, that was pretty difficult to do unlike now).

LoMs in their original state would not be a good permanent idea, though a one day thing would be great imo. All I would like to see is LoMs without synap, the exp loss is enough to deter someone from lomming into hack just for a hunt or an OP hack, the SI just creates a massive timesink which does nothing except piss people off and make people quit.

Players get everything.
Players get everything taken away from them
Players get depressed.

About loms.
Loms as they are now make a player not want to experiment with different skills. IE Tanks and hacking. Spy's with Pistols. Monks and Pistols. PE's and Melee. etc etc.

Thats why I am against it. I think "exploitable loms" like Resist loms and construction/reserch loms should be only available off GM's and the GM would not give them to you if they think you are exploiting.

There! Everybody is happy!

It would consume energy needed to type at my keyboard, only to create a roleback, costing me food, making me have to go out and shop for food, effectively COSTING ME MONEY!

I dont want anything that costs me money.
