I stuck with 80, and I did just fine.
Depends on if you're high-tech or low-tech pistol user. Weapon lore improves all stats (I think) thus lowering the needed P-C to cap the weapon.
Well Im getting a Liberator soon, which is PC only.. i guess ill lower it, so I can hack, more.

Pistols are the only weapons where WEP affects damage. So with more WEP you'll be able to cap damage on a Judge, for example, easier.

Doesnt affect the RoF.
With every point in WEP you cap the dmg on a Judge with 169 P-C if i remember right.

Strange. With my constructer I capped rof on Lib with base WEP 50 and when I lommed it away I didn't cap it anymore...

You can cap a judge with around 75 lore and 174 ish PC (dmg and aiming that is) only dex and PC afects RoF, I currently have mine at 163 rpm and still some decent amount of AGL.
i capped my pistol at 40 wpl and 180 p-c
weapon lore does affect ROF but its about 20-25 point of WEP to get 1 rof :P
You need 200ish weapon lore to cap pistols.
and weaplore does affect rifles too tho only at low lvls; i changed from reflex back to dex boostre ( a dif of 15 weaplore) and my dmg went up on my disruptor by 10%.
so weaplore is important.
if you're going for lib only you need 0 base weplore... worked fine with my pe..

Weapon Lore affects range, aiming and damage.
For those who say their RoF went up with weapon lore, you should pay more attention, it went up with your dexterity main skill lvl.
And as cycl0n said, if you are pure p-c, you can work perfect with 0 base weapon lore and the rest in hack and psi use.
Weapon Lore doesn't effect RoF on it's own when it comes to Pistols. 0 or 255.. it won't move your RoF.
When it comes to the Rest of the Stats the amount of Weaponlore you need to "Cap" the different Pistols depends on the Pistol your using, as well as how many points you have in PC and or your DEX Level.
Think of the Different Areas.. Damage, Rate of Fire, Range, Aiming as Skills in a way. They work kinda like how the armor/resists work. Where in the beginning a few points in them does alot and after that it slowly starts to drop off and the different Subskills (PC/WPL) having so much effect in raising them.
Bascically you can save yourself some PC points by putting more into WPL.. and Vice Versa.
The 4 Stats at the top of your Weapon Info also have an impact on how many points you need to spend in what area to cap that Area.
