I have two hovertecs, you want to know why? Because everytime i ride anywhere i end up loosing my bike. I am riding along and all of a sudden it dissappears and I am standing on my feet. Sometimes the bike is there sometimes it isn't. That's why i got a second bike so i can usually have one. Well it happened twice in a row just now.

You know its really nice that they are working on putting guns on hovertecs with requirements that nobody can use, even if they weren't super uber rares that only are available at GM events, but hey, what good is creating anything if you cant trust it to not dissappear on you for no good reason?

I started this game a month ago and I have to say this game i getting much harder for newer players. All of the older players have many rares from when they were more plentiful and the newer ones don't. This btw is a stupid way to get people to stay because it just makes it even harder, that is if they even make it from MC5 to neocron.

You know, I don't care about a hovertec that only a PE or tank can use i want to be able to rely on my bike because that is the sole method of transportation that works now

Great idea, Shujin. Add more (buggy) content before fixing the stuff that's already here.

Sorry to hear about the problem, personally over the last few months I have not have problems with using my vehicles, it is a hell of a lot better than it used to be. All I can advise is you send in bug reports with as much detail as possible. Remember KK are not a big company with the massive amount of 3 coders so bugs can not be quickly wiped out (although the problems have been massivly reduced

In MC5 you now start with enough money to leave straight away if thats what you mean. If you mean about the crash problems there were I think the majority of that are sorted, or so i have been told.

You can always walk :D Sure it is annoying that sometimes vehicles disappear on you, also if you have a decent faction quite a few GR's should be open for your use....although that of course largely depends on the player community itself and not KK.

Also Shujin, if you don't have anything valid to add to a topic then please don't post at all.

Would it be at all possible to add trunks to the vehicles? I mean now with the inaccasability of most GRs (for a clanless brat like me anyway) it's a real pain to try and lug enough of stuff out to where you are hunting so you can hunt for a bit.

Odd. I've only had my hov-tec disappear on me once. I was still "Mounted" in the air but couldn't move. I right clicked, and dismounted and my hov-tec appeared 3 seconds later.

I wonder why this happens to you so much. I mean I use my hov-tec ALOT and I never "lost" it, except when I attacked someone and a ppu ganked me and they both blew up my vehicle.

Vehicles dissapearing on you = I've had that happen a LOT when I'm driving them. Always seems to fix when I jump out + get back in.

Bug i've had a couple times in the last few weeks... I'll ride my hovertek to wherever I'm gonna be levelling. Park it there, knowing it will auto-recall. Hunt for a few hrs and GR back to apt. Come on the next DAY and try to do the same and my hovertec is still "In Service". That's 12+ hours later. o_O o_O o_O

This has actually happened to me several times. I'll zone in, and boom, no bike, look around, still no bike, wait...no bike... I've actually given up tryign to go anywhere.

Been finding similar instability with vehicles myself recently. In the course of making the journey from J08 to Point Red I had 3 instances of zoning into the beige mist, and about 8 instances of my bike disappearing leaving me hanging in the air (dismounting caused the bike to reappear).

The final straw was on one zoning attempt, to immediately sync on the other side and a couple seconds later zone twice (outside my control) to a location 2 zones away (far side of the zone). Unsure exactly where my bike was now, and in the middle of pretty mountainous terrain, it was an annoying walk to get anywhere from where it dumped me.

I was on the placeholder epic at the time, but having already made 2 similarly troubled journeys in the same mission I just gave up and cancelled, heading back to TH to return to the at least consistent problem with energy core spawns.

If you zone with a full APC you will all CTD, Some of the peaple around you that zone at the same time will also CTD. This bug has been sent i. So I agree why did they put in the ability to lock down GR's before this stuff was fixed.

sorry Ulle, but that's being a little disingenuous to say the least. it isn't KKs fault NOW that players can't use the GRs, but it WAS KK that instigated the new commandment "tho shalt rely on the player community for thy GR rights". which is fine and dandy for those of us who are in a "decent faction", but not so much for those that aren't, or those that might not want to spent ages walking all over the fekkin map to level, and then walking all the way back again each time they get killed (yes, even noobs leveling their chars die sometimes).

don't get me wrong, i personally love the new changes, and they have made the game much more interesting for me. i don't mind walking cos i know the map very well, i know how to avoid trouble, and i have capped (or near) chars that can easily shrug off the odd accidental brush with a wabbit or two along the way.

but i've been playing this thing for almost a year. what i'm worried about are the poor sods who've just come to this game and can't get anywhere or do anything anywhere near as fast as i can now, or even could when i'd only been playing a week.

all this running about for new players only spells two things IMO - "timesink" and "cancelled account".

the game seems to be getting much better for vets, but must be wearing out the patience of everyone else. i, for one, am worried for the future.

ps. remove the frelling reqs from vehicles or put some more GRs on the titting map. cheers.

As someone who spends thier life in the cars. They are more stable then ever. Some things to watch out for.

- Vanishing craft.
Get out of the car and wait about 5 seconds tops. Do not move. the craft should appear right beside you.

- Zoning.
Best rule is make sure your passengers are not talking at a zone point or doing anything else to lower chance of not zoning in time or crashing.

Never zone at a corner if you can help it. Passengers are sometimes not in the same location that you can see so when zoning at a corner you could force them to zone to the wrong zone. Latest patch this is no longer a serious problem.

Always drive the car a little away from the zone point so people appear easier in the craft.

Ps.. remove REQ from crafts? The lowest level craft anyone has the ability to drive. If you were so hard up for points you could Level 1 boost your VHC.

Honestly, the new GR changes, and the new vehicles, have evened each other out.

Anywhere I want to get to now, I go to TH A, grab my Hovertec, and I'm there in under five minutes. It really does expand the map size and make a journey more enjoyable.

You really have to plan ahead if you want to go out now.

As for the vehicles dissapearing, I've had that, I just jump and there it is again.

I'm in the City Mercs, and on Pluto, since the GR change, there has not been one single GR I could use. So I've been Tec'ing it everywhere. Great fun. :D

I have played Neo since december and the only vehicle i ever lost (while zoning or otherwise) was on the testserver testing a glider.

dang striaght. any fool can drive in RL, so why not in NC? the only requirement to be able to drive should be the ability to afford to buy and run a vehicle - that much is fair. but i'm fooked if i'm going to waste actual skill points so i can use a luxury item such a vehicle.

and who isn't hard up for points? if you're anything other than an MC tank with a single point left over in DEX after speccing TC/AGL/RC/PC then you've done something wrong. not that i'm defending pure specialisation, but i won't subscribe to the idea that being able to drive a decent vehicle should necessarily make me a slightly slower runner, or a poorer shot.

cheers.

Because in the future they realised that "Any fool" in a car meant lots of people would die.

Anyway to drive a car requires skill, both in training, practise and study. Despite what you may see on TV you can't just hop into a car and make it go.

Also just because you can drive a bike, doesn't mean you could hop into an APC or Tank. So in the future the craft realises your too stupid and doesn't let you in.

Can't afford to spend points? It will cost you what? 1-2 points off your capped stat? to drive a hovertec?

They could set up one of those red buggys inside NC that moves backwards and forwards when you put cash in. Of course only tanks are allowed in it. :D

heh - we realise that already, right here in the present, and we don't have GRs to bring peeps back to life either. and yet still a good many people behind the wheel are complete idiots and slaughter 10s of thousands each year.

lol. well - i've actually seen a real car, not just on TV. in fact, i've even driven one (well, several actually, and for about 15 years). here's all you need to know:

press this to make it go. press this to make it stop. point this thing in the direction you want it to go in and it'll go in that direction.

needless to say, if you live down here in the present you'll need to know a little bit about road signs and laws and such. you'll also need to practice a wee bit so you don't inconvienience other road users or pedestrians by hitting them with your vehicle, and you may need to be able to operate a stick-shift and clutch, but up in NC there's none of that to slow you down.

should be a breeze, pity it ain't.

It's not as prevelent as it used to be, but vehicles do still remain buggy, especially if your carrying passengers. My Reveler disappeared while doing a taxi run from Military base the other night. Had to hop in my old Wheeler, which I don't like to use because I'd rather not risk it getting destroyed.

Why does everyone bitch about losing a coupla points for vehicle use........ tanks have LOADS of dex points available, i got tonnes with mine and i have over 100 agi....

Spies.... prime requisite is dex.... we get enough intel for all the cars and tanks etc. We are the chauffeur class....

Monks, tough to level dex, once they do though, you need what.... 70 agi, 20 recycle... for boosters, high intel means they can drive all the cars....

pes, they can use hovertechs and speeders with very little gimpage...... yeah of course they can.

This has been said a tonne of times already, you only gotta walk across maybe 3 or 4 zones to get to most places, it aint that far, avoid the mobs on the way unless theres a few of you. Crikey you can level on the way if theres enough people with you.
With the monk nerf im sure theres gonna be more ppus about. Get one, or a poker with you.

Lastly if you dont wanna drive, get a tank or someone with a bit of recycling skill to tag along..... clone ammo and medikits, you can stay out for as long as you need to.......... or until some bastard pks you on his hovertech!
