change faction = FS screw up

as i changed faction and my FS got erm well screwed over

I think it happens when you change to an enemy faction. I changed from CA to TG then back again using the NPC on the test server and my FS got completely screwed over on all allies/enemies for some reason.

On retail, I went from CA to CM and my sympathies stayed the same; although they are neutral.

Don't know what you mean by "screwed over".

But if you change your faction you usually get different "hostile factions". The sympathy toward those will go down by 15.
Neutral factions will remain untouched and allied factions get +5 sympathy.

And IIRC the faction you just changed to gets FS 54 or 55, no matter what it was before (so if you had 100 before it will get "screwed over" as well).

What i dont like is how when you change factions or kill people its like this...

You gain 2 points in Faction A.
You loose 38 points in Faction B,C,D,E.
You loose your house, job, wife, kids and car.
You gain a cookie.

Me = Faction Sympathy Addict

Here's what I've learnt :

Switching from one faction to another causes 30 alignment to be deducted from the original faction.
Any factions that become hostile after a faction hop have 15 points deducted.
Any factions that become allied after a faction hop have 5 points added.
If the faction you switch from is allied to the faction you switch over to, you will only loose 25 points, since 30 are deducted but 5 are added.
