I'm gonna take it that Piss Up is some sort of European phrase.

'Pissed' in the US is the same as 'Pissed Off' in the UK, but 'Pissed' in the UK means drunk. A piss-up is a meet where a stated aim is to get drunk.
We have a lot of terms for being drunk, some of which don't make a lot of sense, like 'rat arsed', 'shit faced' and 'trollied'...
...and munted, wankered, bollocked, out of my tree, plastered, etc.

Yeah I was gutted that I missed the EXL ones. But I was a poor student at the time.
Might actually be in a position to take part this time - depending on when. I'm just up the road in Sheffield :)
