View Full Version : [R#201] Windowed mode is gone

Hi.
I am trying to play NC2 in a window but the option is no longer available in the drop down menu when configuring the hardware.
Is there another way to play in window mode?
Using the config files of a backup installation didnt work either.

The option used to be on the bottom of the list but its gone.

Anyone here with the same problem?
I would really like to play NC in a window again. Full screen is just unpractical.

try to edit the Neocron.ini
change REFMODENAME = "1920x1080x32" in PREFMODENAME = "WindowMode"

I am sorry it doesnt work.
As soon as the client is running i am forced to choose a resolution and its switching to full screen.

Try setting it window mode etc and launch it so it works then edit the settings.

It should work for sure it did for me.


PREFMODENAME = "WindowMode"
PREFWINDOWSIZE = "1920x1080x32"

As i mentioned before there is no option to set it to window mode.
It used to be in that drop down menu but its gone. There are only resolutions to choose from, not a window option anywhere.

Give these a go.

1. Make sure your GFX drivers are upto date.
2. Re-install the DirectX 9 drivers - You can do that by running DXSETUP.EXE in <The location of your Neocron Folder>\Redist\DirectX

I did and tried everything that was suggested to me.
The window mode option keeps missing.
I even re-installed the game. Same thing.
This is so weird. The windowed mode worked for so many years.
Is there anything i can do to help track this issue?

Ok one possibility. Can you open the configure hardware from the launcher and tell me.

1. How many drivers are listed in the "Driver" dropdown - including duplicates.
2. How many modes are listed in the "Mode" dropdown.
