View Full Version : [R# 192] T# 202/203 Patchnotes
Technical Updates & Bug Fixes
NPC definitions corrected
Damage calculation removed from the client - all kinds of damage or health modifications are getting now calculated by the server which results in a more stable and smoother health handling. (No more health jumps).
Gameplay Updates
Health of some NPCs adjusted
Hint: Since the removal of client side damage calculations the ability to log those damages is also gone.
Did you'd experienced any problems with the server side calculations so far?

How can you access the testserver?
1) Make sure you installed the most recent DirectX version (http://www.microsoft.com/download/details.aspx?id=35), as well as the Visual Studio 2013 redistributables (http://www.microsoft.com/en-US/download/details.aspx?id=40784)

I don't wanna get you disappointed but those logs were never that accurate.

everything is installed properly

Always start the client via NeocronLauncher.exe since launching client.exe directly does not check for patches and therefore does not update/patch your client.
Welcome back :)

Can you post the contents of your error.log from your logs dir please? However it does sound like you not got the Direct X9 installed correctly - Can you run DXSETUP.exe in your Redist\DirectX directory of your Neocron Installation.
Also make sure you have installed vcredist_x86.exe regardless of whether you run a 32bit or a 64bit OS.
Finally what OS and Graphics Card are you using?

both are properly installed, rechecked, reinstalled twice
i'm using win 8.1 on a notebook with intel hd4000 + nvidia gtx 660M chip
here the error.log:
free memory: 4095 MB physical, 4095 MB virtual (67%)
File Check complete: 1169 files checked
nothing more - sadly
---
tried using the intel hd4000 chip, crashed too like when using the nvidia chip

Ok give this a try - http://forum.neocron-game.com/showthread.php?146662-Neocron-not-detected-dedicated-GPU&p=2204708#post2204708
If Bifrost's suggestion doesn't get you going, you may try grabbing this and plopping the DLL's directly into your Neocron Test directory

The error.log you report is the same you will receive if you don't have the aforementioned Microsoft redistributables installed (or, perhaps, installed properly?) which many others have run into since the new dependencies were introduced.
Important to note that the error.log output you are seeing is definitely not indicative of this exact problem. Most anything that causes the client to crash straight away would result in that output.

did this already by hand
Test client running with appropriate level of elevation?
Were you able to connect pre-202/203?
Using desktop/font scaling greater than 150%?
Have any GPU monitoring applications installed? If not, grab NZXT CAM. Launch client unspecified, then to the nvidia and then intel gpu's and see if any load at all gets placed on them, and if it hits the 'right' gpu.
Using SweetFX or enbseries?
That's all for now. I'm assuming the failure is entirely based around graphics initialization given the fact that the logs are so short.

i tried starting the retailclient, crashes too absurdly, wasnt so for me at patch #187!?
so i have gpu monitor and the nvidia chip is doing the work for the client.exe
neither i have malware or any other suspectable software on my system, scan everything twice
scaling is set 100%
so i'm really confused cause i cant find anything that might be the problem
