Dear new Runner,
for some unknown reason you just woke up in the MC5 hibernation facility. Let me tell you a few things about this world: Neocron may be post-apocalyptic, cruel and unforgiving, but asking other runners on the Help channel (see F1 or switch chat channels by ALT+C) will help you a lot.
As you head outside the MC5 building, you may want to explore the area, or skip that and head straight to the GenReplicator to travel to your own apartment (recommended, if in doubt use NavRay F9)). In the hallway of your apartment there is a bald guy (Mr. Jones) offering jobs (quests) to you – talk to him later and head down to the street. Look for a “sewer lvl 1”, move down the ladder and try to kill a few spiders or small sewer rats by knife or fists (ALT+H). Keep the loot until you feel like moving slower than before.
Please note that Soda Bottles, Sweets and Flesh (exept if rotten or diseased) will heal you upon use, so keep those. Back on the street, head for the nearest Yo's Allbuyer and sell your loot. You will notice that some pays real money, some not. You may want to repeat that easy raid a few times, until you got a few experience points and are ready to use your first real weapon.
All starter weapons will crush any starter enemies with ease, so you're ready now to do some jobs for Mr. Jones. Travel around the city, see places, talk to people. Always talk to people, as they will likely help a beginner. Check the stores around town, use the subway system, learn your ways and always consult techhaven.org for guns, armor, implants, vehicles, drugs and other ingame items.
Maybe learn to do recycling for making ammo, medikits and some armor and weapons. Have your next weapon built by a constructor, which will give you way better quality and damage than store-bought stuff, except psi modules and drones.
Speaking of drones: no, its not broken. You just need quite some skill points in Remote Control (RCL) and a few in Willpower (WPL) and Hightech Combat (TC). And always talk to people, in Help and Local Chat. Or ask for a constructor and other craftsmen on Trade Channel. Before entering a sewer, check its level. And go anywhere you want, as death isnt permanent in Neocron. Good luck.
