Character Slot Order

Heya, dumb question I know but what is the character slot order? Usually id assume left to right, but the slots step up from right to left and when you first log in without any characters the right most box is selected, so usually I start my characters from the right.

Haha always wandered that for some reason, figured id finally ask :P

I go far left then far right then fill the 2 middle slots :)

Maybe someone remember how login to one-slot server looks like.
I think only the rightmost slot is there, but I'm not sure.
After all, one does not select character more than once on such server...
