There's nothing more disheartening that working your way through the CRP caves, only to get the the bit that is usually filled with mobs to find them already dead and some droner hiding in a corner. He then logs out, logs back in after a reset and repeats.

As a solution to this, I suggest the following 2 Possibilities

When you log in in the caves, having completely cleared (so your body has vanished) logging back in logs you at the entrance.
Upon reset of the cave, any logged out player has their position set back to the beginning of the cave, so upon login they are at the start

Either would be a good solution. The 2nd one may be harder to implement from a development point of view. The 1st one would work, but would make it possible to hide in the back of the cave, logout, then log back in at the entrance to escape combat, though you'd be vulnerable until your body cleared. For a levelling area hough, this should be a fairly small issue.

The ledges in the final two rooms need to be blocked up. It's still easy enough to be ran through.

Perhaps blocking the hidey holes would be a good idea too however.

This "clearing-off" the cave should only be done in so-called "tradional cave"-locations with an end-boss.

-> chaos caves
-> swamp caves

The reason is simple: What in the chaos caves is bad behaviour (to "steel" players the end-boss loot) is in other locations a normal process to simple restart spawn. In Ceres labs for example there is no end-boss and no goal for the runner, here it's all about farming XP and/or parts. So in this laoction i would not alter the possibilities for players.

well.. but it wouldn't hurt to start from the beginning would it?

I mean there must be a point in having an "entrance". When you could just log of and in for respawn it is kind of useless to have an entrance.

Duh the entrance serves it primary duty : allow zoning from A to B.

Man sometimes I swear you guys overcomplicate everything.

Have it so logging out resets you to the beginning of the cave. Change dungeons so the cave automatically resets 10 minutes after all mobs have been cleared.

This problem isn't just limited to droners, I see teams of APU's / Tanks do this all the time as well. people block regants first level all the time so they can constantly respawn the boss room without having mobs respawn on the first level. We did the AK mission this weekend and had a guy blocking the first level from respawning, we needed the parasites for the mission but he wouldn't move. We finally had to log on IRC and tell the GM's in order to get them to move him.

how about more safe spots so mroe caves are viable, so less buildup/backup?
