Instead of a dynamic hitbox size such as a terror raptor that has a changing hitbox when they are moving/flying, use a static hitbox that doesn't resize with movment.
Distance should still be a factor and PvP shouldn't change but it's purely for PvE.
I hate the Terror Raptors hit -box. It annoys me greatly.
Give it three hit-boxes, 1 each for the wings and one for the body. Significantly damaging one of the wings would cause it to become a ground based mob, similar to a Terror Leaper. The you can take out the body. Or if you're feeling skilled, just aim for the (small) body hit-box anyway and forget about the wings. Either way, you need to kill the body.
I know this is a bit of a stretch with the NC engine but it's how I'd like to see it done. Failing this, I support the OT's idea.
